The St. Louis Cardinals system was 4-2 on Wednesday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Memphis’ Aaron Wilkerson, threw eight scoreless innings on four hits with four strikeouts. Other standouts include JJ Wetherholt, Darlin Moquete, Brayden Jobert, Cade McGee and Jose Suarez.

Behind five solo home runs and strong pitching, the Triple-A Redbirds shut out the Stripers by a 9-0 score at AutoZone Park on Wednesday.
In his system debut, starter Aaron Wilkerson pitched eight scoreless innings, allowed four hits and struck out four to earn the win, his fifth of 2025.

Jack Ralston relieved Wilkerson and tossed a scoreless ninth.
Memphis took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. JJ Wetherholt and Luken Baker hit solo home runs.

In the second, another bases empty home run was hit by César Prieto. The Redbirds did it again in the third, Wetherholt’s second solo home run in two at-bats.
The solo homer barrage grew to five in the fourth inning as Matt Koperniak joined in. The sixth and final run came via small ball in the seventh. Prieto walked and stole second base. Prieto advanced to third on a ground out by Michael Siani. Bryan Torres walked and stole second base. Mike Antico plated Prieto on a sac fly.
The Redbirds scored six runs on six hits. Wetherholt was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Prieto scored two runs.
Prieto stole his ninth base of the season. Torres swiped his 20th bag. Antico was caught stealing.
On defense, Siani had an outfield assist at home plate.
Memphis is 50-46 overall, 9-14 in the second half. They are in ninth place in the IL West, 9.5 games back of IL leader Scranton.
Thursday’s game: vs. Gwinnett, Curtis Taylor RHP (4-3, 3.43) vs. Austin Cox LHP (2-1, 3.7) 7:05 CT.
The Double-A Cardinals blanked the Drillers by the score of 4-0 on Wednesday.
In his Springfield debut, starter Cade Winquest pitched 4 1/3 scoreless innings, allowed two hits, fanned four and walked two.

Three relievers added 4 2/3 frames to protect the shutout. Austin Love threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings to earn his fifth win. Andrew Marrero hurled 1 1/3 innings. Osvaldo Berrios tossed the final 1 2/3 innings and earned his third save.
Springfield went up 3-0 in the third inning. Brody Moore singled and Darlin Moquete followed with a two-run home run. Chase Davis walked and stole second base. Davis scored on a single by Leonardo Bernal.

In the sixth, a solo home run by Joshua Baez grew the lead to 4-0.
The offense scored four runs on five hits. No Cardinal had multiple hits. Moquete had two RBI.
Moore stole his second base of the season. Davis swiped his sixth bag. Dakota Harris was caught stealing.
On defense, Jeremy Rivas had a fielding error. Baez had an outfield assist at second base. Winquest picked a runner off first base.
Springfield is 59-33 overall, 16-7 in the second half and is in first place by three games in the Texas League North.

The High-A Chiefs fell to the Whitecaps by the score of 9-4 on Wednesday. Starter Gerardo Salas pitched just 2/3 of an inning, gave up three runs, one earned, on two hits and struck out one. Salas took the loss.
Hunter Hayes surrendered six runs in two innings of relief as the game got out of hand. Jawilme Ramirez threw two scoreless innings. Mason Burns hurled 2 1/3 scoreless innings. Randel Clemente tossed the final two scoreless innings.
West Michigan went up 3-0 in the first inning and added six runs in the third to lead 9-0.
Peoria scored two runs in the fifth. Tre Richardson singled and Brayden Jobert followed with a two-run home run.

The Chiefs added a run in the seventh. Jobert doubled and later scored on a ground out by Michael Curialle.
Peoria scored their fourth and final run in the ninth. Richardson singled and advanced to second on defensive indifference. Richardson later came home on a ground out by Anyelo Encarnacion.
The Chiefs scored four runs on eight hits. Jobert was 2-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Richardson was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Won-Bin Cho was 2-for-3.
On defense, Cho made a fielding error.
Peoria is 37-54 overall, 11-15 in the second half, and is in fifth place in the Midwest League West, 4.5 games back of Beloit.

Palm Beach 3, Jupiter 0 (seven innings, game one)
The Class-A Cardinals blanked the Hammerheads in a 3-0 win in the first game of a twin bill on Wednesday.
Starter Leonel Sequera pitched five scoreless innings, allowed three hits, struck out three and walked two to earn his third win.
Domenic Picone relieved Sequera and tossed two scoreless innings to earn his first save.
The Beach Birds took a 1-0 lead in the third inning. Springfield rehabber Miguel Ugueto singled. Rainiel Rodriguez walked. Deniel Ortiz singled Ugueto home.
Palm Beach added a run in the fourth. Jose Cordoba and Christian Martin singled. Ugueto plated Cordoba on a single.
The Cardinals increased the lead to 3-0 in the fifth. Jonathan Mejia walked and stole second base. Sammy Hernandez drove in Mejia on a single.
The offense scored three runs on nine hits. Ugueto was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Hernandez was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Mejia stole his 13th base of the season. Christian Martin was caught stealing. On defense, Hernandez made a fielding error.
Palm Beach 6, Jupiter 4 (seven innings, game two)
Behind two three-run long balls, the Cardinals defeated the Hammerheads in the second game of the twin bill on Wednesday for the sweep.
In his full-season debut, starter Keiverson Ramirez pitched five scoreless innings, allowed two hits and struck out three to earn the win.
Hunter Kublick relieved Ramirez and surrendered three runs in the sixth. Sam Brodersen yielded one run in the seventh but still received his second save.
The Beach Birds took a 3-0 lead in the first inning. Christian Martin and Cade McGee walked. Jose Suarez followed with a three-run home run.

Palm Beach added three runs in the third to increase the lead to 6-0. Jonathan Mejia walked. Luis Pino singled. Mejia stole third base and Pino stole second. Cade McGee hit a three-run home run.

In the sixth, Jupiter scored three times and added a run in the seventh to make it 6-4.
The offense scored six runs on four hits. McGee had three RBI and scored two runs. Suarez drove in three.
Mejia stole his 14th base. Pino swiped his seventh bag. Bryce Madron was caught stealing. Suarez was picked off first base.
Palm Beach is 44-45 overall, 12-12 in the second half, and is in third place in the FSL East, 3.5 games back of St. Lucie.

FCL Cardinals 3 at FCL Nationals 4
The rookie Cardinals were edged by the Nationals by a 4-3 score on Wednesday, which ended their 2025 season. Starter Andrew Dutkanych struggled, getting just one out while giving up four runs on four hits and a walk with one strikeout. Dutkanych took the loss.
Antoni Cuello relieved Dutkanych and threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Two pitchers previously sent down from higher levels finished the game with two scoreless innings each – Zack Showalter (Peoria) and Edwin Nuñez (Springfield).
The Nationals went up 4-0 in the first inning. The Cardinals scored one run in the second. Johnfrank Salazar walked, advanced to second on a balk, advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored on a single by Yancel Guerrero.
The Cardinals added two runs in the sixth to shrink the lead to 4-3. Facundo Velazquez singled. Salazar walked. Both runners advanced on a pop out by Heriberto Caraballo. Velasquez scored on a sac fly by Daniel Rojas. Guerrero plated Salazar on a single.
The Cardinals scored three runs on five hits. Guerrero was 2-for-3 with two RBI. Salazar scored two runs.
Guerrero also stole two bases.
The Cardinals are 24-31 on the season and finished in fourth place in the Florida Complex League East Division, 13 ½ games out of first.
