The St. Louis Cardinals system was 1-4 on Wednesday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Peoria SS Jalin Flores, went 3-for-3 plus a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Other standouts: Won-Bin Cho, Jack Gurevitch, Jacob Odle, Royelny Strop and Miguel Hernández.

The Triple-A Redbirds lost to the Bulls by an 8-2 score at AutoZone Park on Wednesday.
Starter Mason Molina pitched 2 2/3 innings, gave up seven runs on six hits, walked five and struck out two. Molina took the loss.
Ryan Murphy relieved Molina and surrendered one run in 1 1/3 innings. Jared Shuster threw three scoreless innings on three hits, no walks and with two strikeouts. Cade Winquest hurled a scoreless eighth. Durbin Feltman tossed a scoreless ninth.
Durham took a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
Memphis tied the game in the second. Chase Davis walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Colton Ledbetter walked. Brody Moore singled to score Davis.

The Bulls posted a seven-run third to take control at 8-1.
The Redbirds scored an additional run in the sixth. Nolan Gorman doubled, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and scored on a sac fly by Leo Bernal.
Memphis scored two runs on five hits. Moore was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
Moore stole two bases. Thomas Saggese swiped his sixth bag.
Noah Mendlinger made a fielding error and had an outfield assist at home plate.
Memphis is 8-15 in the second half.

Springfield 4 at NW Arkansas 9
On the road, the Double-A Cardinals were defeated by the Naturals by a 9-4 score on Wednesday.
Starter Braden Davis pitched 4 1/3 innings, gave up three runs on six hits, walked three and fanned eight. Davis took the loss.
Tyler Bradt relieved Davis and surrendered four runs in 1 1/3 innings. Dominic Picone yielded one run in 1 1/3 innings. D.J. Carpenter relinquished one run in the eighth.
NW Arkansas took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. They added two runs in the fourth, and five in the sixth to extend the lead to 8-0.
Springfield put up four runs in the top of the eighth to cut the lead to 8-4. Jesús Báez doubled and scored on a single by Deniel Ortiz. Miguel Ugueto walked. Won-Bin Cho followed with a three-run home run, his 10th since entering the Texas League.

The Naturals scored a final run in the home eighth.
The Springfield offense scored four runs on eight hits. Cho was 2-for-3 with three RBI. Jon Jon Gazdar was 2-for-4.
Ortiz stole his third base. Cho swiped his first bag at Double-A.
Zach Levenson had an outfield assist at home plate.
Springfield is 13-10 in the second half.
Thursday’s game: at NW Arkansas, Blake Aita RHP (0-1, 3.00) vs. Hunter Owen LHP (1-5, 8.65) 7:05 CT.
The High-A Chiefs beat the Whitecaps by the score of 7-2 at Dozer Park on Wednesday.
Starter Jacob Odle pitched 4 2/3 innings, gave up two runs on two hits, walked three and fanned nine.

The Peoria pen was strong. Dylan Driessen relieved Odle and threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings for the win. Jose Davila hurled two scoreless innings. Patrick Galle tossed a scoreless ninth.
West Michigan took a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
Peoria tied the game in the second on a solo home run by Sammy Hernandez.

The Chiefs added two runs in the third to take the lead at 3-1. Anyelo Encarnación walked but was eliminated in a force out by Tai Peete. Jack Gurevitch followed with a two-run home run, his fourth long ball in the last two games.

Peoria made it 4-1 in the fourth. Ian Petrutz and Encarnación singled. Tai Peete singled to score Petrutz.
The Whitecaps scored their second run in the top of the fourth.
The Chiefs answered with two runs in the home fourth to extend the lead to 6-2. Jalin Flores hit a solo home run, the team record-setting 123rd this season. Michael Dattalo doubled and scored on a triple by Petrutz.
History = MADE.

Peoria added a run in the seventh for the final score of 7-2. Flores doubled and came home on a double by José Suárez.
The Chiefs scored seven runs on 12 hits. Flores was 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored. Petrutz was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Peete was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Gurevitch had two RBI.
Suárez made a fielding error.
The Chiefs are 11-14 in the second half.

The Low-A Cardinals fell to the Tarpons by a 3-2 score at Roger Dean Stadium on Wednesday.
Starter Ixan Henderson, on a rehab assignment from Memphis, pitched three innings, gave up one run on two hits, walked two and struck out three.
Ixan through three just under 50 pitches. Tipping out at 92.7 mph, averaging 91.6 mph.

Nathan Shinn relieved Henderson and surrendered two runs in 5 2/3 innings and took the loss. Justin Militello secured the final out.
Tampa took a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
The Cardinals tied the game in the sixth. Sebastian Dos Santos doubled and scored on a single by Yairo Padilla.
Tampa scored one run in the seventh to take the lead.
The Cardinals tied the game again in the eighth. Dos Santos doubled again and advanced to third on a sac bunt by Padilla. Ryan Mitchell walked. Dos Santos scored on a wild pitch.
The Tarpons put up a run in the ninth to win the game 3-2.
The Cardinals scored two runs on seven hits. Dos Santos hit two doubles and scored twice. Matthew Miura was 2-for-4.
Padilla stole his seventh base. Yordalin Peña stole two bags. Mitchell stole his 26th base.
Henderson and Shinn each picked a runner off first base. Johnfrank Salazar had a passed ball.
The Cardinals are 14-11 in the second half.

FCL Cardinals 6 at FCL Astros 7 (eight innings)
The rookie Cardinals were walked off by the Astros by a 7-6 score on Wednesday. The scheduled seven-inning contest went into the eighth.
Starter Hendrick Caña pitched just 2/3 of an inning, gave up five runs on three hits, walked three and struck out one.
Yordy Herrera relieved Caña and threw 2 1/3 perfect innings with three strikeouts. Andrew Bolívar hurled three scoreless innings on one hit, one walk and three Ks. Brailyn Paulino tossed a scoreless seventh. Jarol Báez yielded two runs, one earned, while collecting just one out and took the loss.
The Astros went up 5-0 in the first inning.
The Cardinals scored one run in the third. Daniel Rojas walked and stole second. Miguel Hernández doubled to bring Rojas home.
The Cardinals added three runs in the sixth to shrink the lead to 5-4. Cristofer Lebrón doubled. Kenly Hunter walked. Royelny Strop singled to score Lebrón. Hunter came home on a ground out by J.P. Cabrera. Bracewell Taveras walked. Rojas singled to drive in Strop.
The Cardinals tied the game in the seventh. Hernández walked but was eliminated in a force out by Lebrón. Lebrón was eliminated in a force out by Hunter. Strop singled to score Hunter.
The game went into extra innings. Cabrera was the tiebreaker runner. Taveras walked. Yeferson Portolatin singled. Hernández plated Cabrera on single.
The Astros scored two runs in the bottom of the eighth to win 7-6 in a walk off.
The Cardinals scored six runs on eight hits. Strop was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Hernández was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Hunter scored two runs.
Rojas stole two bases. Caña made an error on a pickoff attempt.
The Cardinals are 20-31 on the season and are in fourth place in the FCL East. They have been eliminated from playoff contention.
