The St. Louis Cardinals system went 2-5 on Saturday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Juan Yepez, went 3-for-4 including two doubles, two RBI and a run scored. Other standouts include Masyn Winn, Brandon Komar, Max Rajcic and Joshua Baez.

The Memphis Redbirds (48-47) topped the Charlotte Knights (CWS, 3-16) at Truist Field on Saturday.
Matthew Liberatore gave up two runs in 5 2/3 innings. The left-hander yielded five hits, three walks and five punchouts. Grant Black earned his second win after he surrendered two runs, one earned, on a hit, two walks and two strikeouts.
In the first inning, Juan Yepez doubled to plate one run. The Knights made it 2-1 in the fifth.
The Redbirds scored four runs in the seventh inning. Kramer Robertson doubled to tie the game and Masyn Winn blasted a two-run homer to make the score 4-2. Matt Koperniak grounded into a forceout to plate one.

In relief, James Naile fanned two in a scoreless frame. Jacob Barnes was charged with a run in the ninth inning.
In the ninth, Yepez doubled again to bring one across. Moisés Gómez and Nick Dunn singled to make the score 8-4.

Yepez went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and two RBI. Winn was 2-for-5, with a homer, a double, two RBI and two runs. Dunn had three singles and Richie Palacios came across twice. The lineup recorded 14 hits and four walks.
In the field, Robertson and Black committed errors. Tres Barrera picked a runner off.
Sunday’s game: at Charlotte, TBA vs. RHP Chase Solesky (0-5, 8.44) 4:05 CT
The Springfield Cardinals (9-11) were blanked by the Arkansas Travelers (SEA, 12.7) on Saturday at Hammons Field.
Starter Brandon Komar gave up one run in five innings on six hits, three walks and one strikeout. The right-hander took his sixth loss. In relief, Nick Trogrlic-Iverson fanned four in two scoreless frames. The Gap widened as Ryan Shreve gave up two runs in 1 2/3 innings and Logan Sawyer struck out one in 1/3 of an inning.
The Springfield offense was quiet as Mike Antico and Irving Lopez had the only hits. The lineup went 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position.
Komar picked a runner off.
Sunday’s game: vs. Arkansas, LHP Alex Cornwell (0-0, 5.79) vs. RHP Shawn Semple (2-3, 5.85) 6:05 CT
The Peoria Chiefs (13-10) were edged by the Cedar Rapids Kernels (MIN, 15-8) at PG Cares Field on Saturday night.
Max Rajcic yielded two runs, one earned, in six innings on three hits and two walks. The right-hander struck out five.
After the Kernels scored a run in the first inning, the Chiefs responded with one in the second. Darlin Moquete came across on a wild pitch to tie the game. Cedar Rapids took the lead in the bottom half. In the fifth, Francisco Hernandez scored on a balk.
Out of the bullpen, Joseph King took his first loss after he surrendered an unearned run with two punchouts. Edwin Nunez recorded a scoreless 2/3 of an inning.
Church and Hernandez had two hits apiece. Church recorded the only extra-base hit, a double. The lineup left three runners on base.
On the base paths, Moquete stole a base and Hernandez was caught stealing. Luis Rodriguez committed an error. Jimmy Crooks had an error and a passed ball.

The Palm Beach Cardinals (7-14) defeated the St. Lucie Mets (NYM, 7-16) playing as the home team at Clover Park.
Starter Cade Winquest surrendered three runs in 4 2/3 innings on four hits and four walks. The right-hander fanned eight.
The Beach Birds put up all six runs in the eighth inning as new Cardinals came through. Kade Kretzschmar singled to score one run and Graysen Tarlow doubled to plate two and make the score 4-3. Joshua Baez tied the game with a double. Ross Friedrick hit his first professional home run, a two-run shot.

Out of the bullpen, Wilmer Ortega was charged with one run in 3 1/3 frames with two punchouts. The 22-year-old earned his first win. Angel Cuenca saved his first game after a scoreless ninth.
Won-Bin Cho and Baez recorded two hits apiece. Baez went 2-for-4 with a double, one RBI and a run scored. The lineup went 4-for-13 with runners in scoring position.
On the base paths, Baez and Dakota Harris took a bag each. In the field, Tre Richardson committed a fielding error and Leonardo Bernal had a passed ball.
Sunday’s game: vs. St. Lucie, TBA vs. TBA 11:00 CT
FCL Cardinals 3, FCL Mets 6 (Completion of July 14 contest)
The Florida Complex League Cardinals fell to the Mets in the resumption of the July 14 game.
Gerardo Salas gave up three runs in four innings with five hits, two walks and four strikeouts. In relief, Omar Yanez tossed 1 1/3 scoreless innings with two strikeouts.
In the second inning, Jeremy Ramos singled to plate one and Adari Grant doubled to make the score 2-0. In the fourth inning, Felix Taveras brought across a run with a single to tie the game.
Ettore Giulianelli took his first loss of the year after he yielded a run in 1 2/3 innings. Diorys Guerrero pitched an inning and was touched for two runs.
Taveras recorded the only multi-hit game with two. Grant and Luis Rodriguez doubled and Yancel Guerrero tripled. Ramos went 1-for-3 with a walk, one RBI and two runs scored. The lineup went 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position.
On the bases, Ramos took a bag. Jonathan Mejia committed a fielding error and Ramos had an outfield assist.
FCL Cardinals 0, FCL Mets 5 (7 innings)
The Florida Complex League Cardinals (10-20) were blanked by the Mets (19-10) in a seven-inning contest at Roger Dean Stadium.
Starter Darlin Saladin tossed 3 2/3 frames and gave up three runs on six hits and three walks. The right-hander fanned one and took his third loss.
In relief, Miguel Martinez threw 2 1/3 scoreless innings with two punchouts. Alejandro Cervantes was touched for two unearned runs with two walks in the seventh inning.
Jose Cordoba had the only multi-hit game with two. The lineup walked five times and went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.
Jonathan Mejia committed a fielding error for the second straight game. Cordoba was caught stealing and picked off. Martinez picked a runner off.
Tuesday’s game: at FCL Astros, TBA vs. TBA (Completion of July 17 game, the Cardinals are off Sunday and Monday)
DSL Cardinals 2, DSL NYY Bombers 9
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals (11-24) fell to the NYY Bombers (16-17) on Saturday morning.
Juan Severino tossed 2 1/3 innings and yielded six runs on seven hits and three walks. The 19-year-old struck out three and took his third loss. Stiveen Rojas struck out three in 2 2/3 scoreless innings.
The Yankees scored six runs in the first four innings. In the fifth, Paulo Asprilla grounded out to score one run. Arfeni Batista came across on a wild pitch in the ninth inning to make the score 9-2.
Jose Suriel walked three and struck out three after two innings with one run given up. In two innings, Justin Hernandez surrendered a run.
The Cardinals only recorded three hits and three walks. Batista walked twice and came across once. The lineup went 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
Batista took his second bag of the season. Asprilla made a throwing error.
Monday’s game: at DSL Giants Orange, TBA vs. TBA 10:00 CT
