The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was 2-1 on Monday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, CF Kenly Hunter, went 4-for-8 including a triple, plus a walk, two stolen bases, three runs scored and six RBI in the FCL doubleheader split. Other standouts include Michael Cordero, Miguel Hernández, Yeferson Portolatin and Earle Zuleuta.

Memphis Redbirds (off day)
The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds were off Monday, as they headed home to AutoZone Park for a six-game series with the Durham Bulls, starting Tuesday.
The Redbirds will look to gain momentum after dropping two of three on the road to the Iowa Cubs coming out of the break.
Outfielder Joshua Báez is putting together a great season, though he is currently slumping with a .133 average in July. The 22-year-old leads the International League in home runs (29) and RBI (73) while also having tallied the most steals on the Redbirds (15). Báez also leads the team in hits at 83.
Leo Bernal has put together a solid season with the Redbirds. The catcher is hitting .272 with 11 home runs and 53 RBI. He is hot currently, with a .333 July average and a 1.068 OPS.
On the mound, Quinn Mathews has totaled the most strikeouts at 101 across 85 innings with a solid 3.39 ERA to anchor the Memphis rotation. Since June 1, the lefty has a 1.79 ERA.
Memphis is 7-11 in the second half and 54-39 on the season. They are tied for last place in the International League West Division.
Tuesday’s game: vs. Durham (TB). Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM CT.
Springfield Cardinals (off day)
The Double-A Springfield Cardinals were off Monday, as they traveled to Arvest Ballpark in Springdale, Arkansas, for a six-game set with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, starting Tuesday.
The Cardinals enter the week after dropping two of three to the Amarillo Sod Poodles.
Ryan Campos has provided a strong bat and holds the team lead in RBI (48) and home runs (10). Campos’s 15 doubles are second most among Springfield players.
Won-Bin Cho displayed strong power and run production in his first 18 games of Double-A baseball. Cho has pounded nine home runs with 18 RBI, skyrocketing to second place on the team in home runs. Jesús Báez has swung a hot bat in Double-A, hitting .267 with eight home runs and 19 RBI in 19 games.
On the mound, Braden Davis and Chen-Wei Lin have each tallied over 80 strikeouts, now standing as the only two pitchers at that mark currently on the roster. Newcomer Blake Aita has pitched to a solid 3.00 ERA across his first 12 innings with Springfield.
Springfield is 13-8 in the second half and 44-45 overall. They hold a one-game lead in the Texas League North Division.

Peoria Chiefs (off day)
The High-A Peoria Chiefs were off Monday, as they headed home to Dozer Park for a six-game series with the West Michigan Whitecaps, starting Tuesday.
Peoria enters the week after dropping two of three at the South Bend Cubs.
On offense, Jalin Flores leads the Chiefs with 58 RBI and also has 10 home runs. Flores also holds the team lead in hits (74), with José Suárez one behind. Kross and Cade McGee lead players currently on the roster with 11 home runs each.
On the mound, Yhoiker Fajardo holds the lowest ERA among starters at 3.93 across 68 ⅔ innings in 16 games (14 starts) and has tallied the most strikeouts on the staff at 96. Leonel Sequera is second on the team in Ks at 81.
Peoria is 9-14 in the second half and 41-48 overall. The Chiefs are in fifth place in the Midwest League West Division.
Tuesday’s game: vs. West Michigan (DET). Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM CT.
Palm Beach Cardinals (off day)
The Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals were off Monday as they prepared for a six-game series with the Tampa Tarpons at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium, beginning Tuesday.
The Cardinals enter the week looking to gain momentum following a 2-1 series loss to the St. Lucie Mets.
Yordalin Peña holds the team lead in home runs (13) and RBI (50). Peña has also tallied a team-best 71 hits, with Ryan Weingartner and Brayden Smith tied for second place on the team with 65 hits. Ryan Mitchell has drawn the most walks on the team at 71.
On the mound, left-hander Cade Crossland has thrown a team-high 64 ⅔ innings across 17 appearances and 16 starts, striking out a team-best 96. Crossland also has four wins. Dylan Driessen pitched to a strong 2.30 ERA over 31 ⅓ innings across 24 relief outings with 43 strikeouts to earn a promotion to Peoria.
Palm Beach is 13-10 in the second half and 46-43 overall. They are 1.5 games behind first place in the Florida State League East Division.

FCL Cardinals 11 at FCL Marlins 12 (7 innings, game one)
The Florida Complex League Cardinals were walked off in a slugfest in a game one of Monday’s road doubleheader after the bullpen blew a five-run lead.
Keiverson Ramírez made his third start in his fifth game of the year for the Cardinals. The right-hander threw 1 ⅓ innings and allowed five runs on four hits, two walks, and one strikeout.
Brailyn Paulino yielded a run and finished the second inning. Rehabber Joseph King followed with a scoreless frame. Giovanni Vargas struck out two over 1 ⅓ shutout frames. Alejandro Lóaiza gave up two runs across 1 ⅔ innings. Jarol Baéz surrendered four runs and failed to record an out, taking a blown save and the loss.
The Cardinals struck first with two runs in the top of the first inning. Yeferson Portolatin walked, moved to second on a groundout and third on a wild pitch. Cristofer Lebrón walked and stole second. Kenly Hunter triple to score Portolatin and Lebrón.
The Marlins plated six runs in the bottom of the second to grab a 6-2 lead.
The Cardinals tied the game in the third. Portolatin walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Hernández walked. The runners advanced on a balk. Lebrón reached on a fielder’s choice, with Portolatin out at home. Lebrón stole second base. Hunter lined a single to bring Hernández and Lebrón home and bring the Cardinals within two at 6-4. Royelny Strop singled home Hunter, with Strop to third on a fielding error. Strop crossed home plate on a J.P. Cabrera groundout to tie the game at 6-6.
The Cardinals regained the lead with a run in the fifth. Lebrón doubled and scored on a single from Hunter for a 7-6 Cardinals lead.
The Cardinals expanded the lead with a four-run sixth. Facundo Velásquez reached on a fielding error and Portolatin singled. Hernández belted a three-run home run, his eighth of the year. With one away, Hunter walked and moved to third on a double from Strop. Cabrera brought Hunter home on a groundout for an 11-6 lead.
The Marlins scored twice in the sixth and four times in the seventh to walk off the win, 12-11.
The FCL Cardinals scored 11 runs on 11 hits. Hunter was 3-for-3, including a walk, two runs scored, a triple, and five RBI. Hernández walked, scored twice, and collected three RBI on a home run. Cabrera logged two RBI. Lebrón walked, doubled, and scored three times. Strop went 3-for-3 with a double and a run scored.
On the bases, Lebrón stole two bags to increase his season total to 18. Hunter swiped his 16th base. Strop tallied his ninth steal and was caught stealing second base.
On defense, first baseman Bracewell Taveras committed a fielding error.
FCL Cardinals 13 at FCL Marlins 2 (7 innings, game two)
The FCL Cardinals crushed the Marlins to split the road doubleheader on Monday.
Branneli Franco made his fifth start in his ninth game for the Cardinals. The right-hander threw two innings and allowed two runs on four hits, no walks, and two strikeouts.
Earle Zulueta struck out six across four scoreless, no-hit innings in relief of Franco and earned his second win. Yordy Herrera fanned two in a shutout seventh to finish the game.
The Cardinals’ bats were red-hot with an eight-run top of the first. Yeferson Portolatin walked, stole second and moved to third on a passed ball. Miguel Hernández drew a walk, with Portolatin scoring on a wild ball four. Hernández advanced to second on a balk and third via a wild pitch. Kenly Hunter singled to bring Hernández home. Hunter swiped second and scored on a Royelny Strop single. Strop made second on a wild pitch and stole third. Bracewell Taveras and Daniel Rojas walked to load the bases, still with no outs. Paulo Asprilla took a third consecutive walk to force Strop home. Andru Arthur doubled home Taveras and Rojas. Asprilla scored on a wild pitch. Portolatin drew his second walk of the inning. Arthur crossed home plate via a wild pitch to stretch the lead to 8-0.
The Marlins scored twice in the home first to dent the score to 8-2.
The Cardinals took one run back in the second. Strop led off with a single and ended up at third base due to a throwing error. Taveras tripled home Strop for a 9-2 Cardinals lead.
The Cardinals added a run in the sixth. Rojas singled. Asprilla walked, with Rojas to third on the play via a throwing error. Rojas scored on a passed ball.
The Cardinals cashed in three insurance runs in the top of the seventh. Portolatin legged out an infield single and Hernández followed with a walk. Strop was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Rojas reached on a fielding error as Portolatin and Hernández came home. Asprila lined a single to bring Strop home for the 13th Cardinals run.
The lineup totaled six hits with runners in scoring position in the blowout win.
The FCL Cardinals scored 13 runs on nine hits. Strop was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI. Asprilla walked twice, singled, scored and notched two RBI. Arthur walked, doubled, scored and drove in two. Taveras walked, tripled, scored and logged an RBI.
On the bases, Portolatin swiped his third bag of 2026. Hunter stole his 17th. Strop collected his 10th steal.
On defense, first baseman Taveras committed a fielding error. Pitcher Zulueta made a pickoff error.
The FCL Cardinals are 20-30 on the season. They are off Tuesday and will play a road contest with the FCL Astros on Wednesday.
Wednesday’s game: at FCL Astros. Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 AM CT.
DSL Cardinals 8, DSL NYY Bombers 7 (9 innings)
In Monday’s scheduled seven-inning contest, the Dominican Summer League Cardinals walked off the DSL NYY Bombers in the ninth inning.
Juan García made his eighth start for the Cardinals. The right-hander pitched four innings and allowed three runs on three hits, two walks and four strikeouts.
Jordan Beltrán yielded two runs, one earned, and recorded just one out in relief of García. Kriscol Peralta gave up a run in an inning of work. Rayner Reyes tossed 2 ⅔ shutout frames but was tagged with a blown save after allowing an inherited runner to score. Domingo Mejía allowed an unearned run in the ninth but held on to pick up his second win.
The NYY Bombers jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the top of the second inning.
The Cardinals moved within a run with a pair of runs in the home half of the frame. Diego Conseción led off with an infield single. Conseción moved to second on a wild pitch and stole third. Héctor Cabrera walked. Roberth Castillo grounded a single to bring Conseción home, with Cabrera to third base. Cabrera scored on a balk to move the Cardinals within a run.
The Cardinals took their first lead of the day with a three-run third. Misael Sánchez walked, Christopher Vargas singled, and Conseción walked to load the bases. Sánchez scored on a wild pitch. Cabrera walked to reload the bags. Christian Sáez drew a walk to force Vargas home. Jesús Pérez took a second consecutive bases-loaded walk to score Conseción for a 5-3 lead.
The NYY Bombers tied the game at five with a pair of runs in the top of the fifth.
The Cardinals regained the lead with a run in the home fifth. Castillo legged out an infield single to the pitcher. Sáez singled. Pérez reached on catcher’s interference to load the bags. With two outs, Michael Cordero walked to force Castillo home and move the Cardinals ahead 6-5.
The NYY Bombers knotted the game at six with a run in the sixth. The game remained tied past seven innings to force extra innings.
The NYY Bombers broke through with a run in the top of the ninth.
Down to their last three outs, the Cardinals looked to answer. Cabrera began the inning at second base. Castillo walked and Sáez singled to load the bases with nobody out. With two outs, Cordero hit a double to bring Cabrera and Castillo home to win the game for the Cardinals 8-7 in walk-off fashion.
The DSL Cardinals scored eight runs on eight hits. Cordero walked, doubled, and tallied three RBI. Castillo was 2-for-4 with a walk, two runs scored, and an RBI. Sáez went 2-for-3 with two walks and an RBI. Pérez walked three times and drove in a run. Conseción was 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored.
On the bases, Conseción swiped his third bag of the season.
On defense, catcher Cabrera made a throwing error and was tagged with a passed ball. Sánchez threw a runner out at first base from right field.
The DSL Cardinals are 16-17 on the season. They will play at the DSL Rangers Blue on Tuesday.
