The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-2 on Tuesday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, CF Bryan Torres, was 2-for-4 with two RBI and three steals in Springfield’s 10th inning walk off win. Other standouts include Darlin Saladin, Johnfrank Salazar, and Yancel Guerrero.

The Triple-A Redbirds fell to the Tides by a 6-4 score on Tuesday at AutoZone Park. Starter Adam Kloffenstein pitched three innings, gave up four runs on five hits, struck out one and walked three.
Nick Raquet relieved Kloffenstein and threw two scoreless innings. Kyle Leahy also hurled two scoreless innings. Jacob Bosiokovic surrendered two runs in the final two innings and took the loss.
Norfolk took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning. Memphis scored one run in the home half. Victor Scott II singled and stole second base. Jordan Walker singled. Matt Koperniak plated Scott on a sac fly.
The Tides increased the lead to 4-1 in the third. The Redbirds put two on the board in the sixth to shrink the lead to 4-3. Walker and Iván Herrera walked. Luken Baker doubled to score Walker. Herrera came home on a single by Thomas Saggese.
Memphis tied the game in the eighth on a solo home run by Herrera. Norfolk came back with two runs in the ninth to win 6-4.
The Memphis offense scored four runs on five hits. No Redbird had multiple hits.
On the bases, Scott stole his 24th base of the season. Saggese swiped his seventh bag.
Memphis is 45-43 on the season, 7-6 in the second half.
Wednesday’s game: vs. Norfolk, Michael McGreevy RHP (4-7, 4.79) vs. Bruce Zimmerman LHP (2-3, 4.25) 7:05 CT.
Springfield 7, Wichita 6 (10 innings)
The Double-A Cardinals topped the visiting Wind Surge in a 10th inning walk off on Tuesday. Starter Edwin Nuñez pitched four innings, gave up six runs on seven hits, struck out five and walked one.
Benito Garcia relieved Nuñez and threw three scoreless innings of relief. Brandon Komar hurled two scoreless innings. Matt Svanson tossed a scoreless 10th to earn his third win.
Wichita took a 4-0 lead in the first inning and added a run in the top of the third to lead 5-0.
Springfield scored three runs in the home third to cut the lead to 5-3. Noah Mendlinger singled. Bryan Torres walked. St. Louis rehabber Tommy Edman drove in Mendlinger on a single. Matt Lloyd walked. Jimmy Crooks reached on an error as Torres and Edman came home.
Wichita added one run in the top of the fourth to increase the lead to 6-3. The Cardinals answered with one run in the home fourth to shrink the lead to 6-4. Nathan Church was hit by a pitch. Mendlinger singled. Jeremy Rivas grounded into a force out. Church advanced to third and Mendlinger was out at second. Torres plated Church on a single.
Springfield tied the game in the sixth. Church hit a solo home run. Rivas singled and stole second base. Rivas came home on a single by Torres.
The game went into extra innings. In the bottom of the 10th, the Cardinals won in a walk off 7-6. Lloyd started on second base. Mike Antico singled. Jacob Buchberger drove in Lloyd on a sac fly.
Springfield scored seven runs on nine hits. Torres was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Mike Antico was 2-for-5. Mendlinger was 2-for-4.
Torres stole three bases. Antico swiped his 15th bag. Rivas stole his 21st base.
Springfield is 45-37 on the season, 8-5 in the second half.
Wednesday’s game: vs. Wichita, Alex Cornwell LHP (4-2, 6.50) vs. Kyle Jones RHP (0-0, 0.00) 7:05 CT.
The Chiefs edged the River Bandits in a 4-3 road win on Tuesday. Starter Darlin Saladin pitched six innings, gave up two runs on five hits, struck out eight and walked one to earn his third win since joining Peoria.
Roy Garcia relieved Saladin and surrendered one run in 1/3 of inning. Osvaldo Berrios threw two scoreless innings. Nathanael Heredia tossed the final 2/3 of a scoreless inning.
Peoria went up 1-0 in the top of the second inning. Won-Bin Cho singled and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Michael Curialle drove in Cho on a single.
Quad Cities tied the game in the home second. The Chiefs regained the lead in the third on a solo home run by Leonardo Bernal.
The River Bandits tied the game again with one run scored in the fifth. Peoria came back in the sixth with two runs to lead 4-2. Chris Rotondo singled. In his Chiefs debut, Johnfrank Salazar thumped a two-run home run.
Quad Cities cut the lead to 4-3 in the seventh.
The Chiefs scored four runs on seven hits. Cho was 2-for-3. Salazar had two RBI.
On the bases, Alex Iadisernia was caught stealing. On defense, Salazar made a fielding error.
Peoria is 35-46 on the season, 9-7 in the second half.
Wednesday’s game: at Quad Cities, Hancel Rincon RHP (5-5, 4.46) vs. Henry Williams RHP (2-3, 4.35) 6:30 CT.
Palm Beach vs. Clearwater (suspended)
The series opener at Roger Dean Stadium was suspended in the third inning due to inclement weather. The game will be resumed on July 10 as the first game of a doubleheader.
Wednesday’s game: vs. Clearwater, RH Benjamin Arias vs. TBD 3:00 CT (resumption of suspended game), RH Gerardo Salas vs. TBD (game two).
FCL Cardinals 4 at FCL Marlins 5
The rookie level Cardinals were edged by the Marlins by a 5-4 score on Tuesday. Starter Yadiel Batista pitched 4 2/3 innings, gave up four runs, three earned, on five hits, struck out seven and walked one.
Randel Clemente relieved Batista and threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Antoni Cuello surrendered one run in 1 1/3 innings and took the loss. Omar Yanez tossed the final 2/3 of a scoreless inning.
The Marlins took a 2-0 lead in the third inning. In the top of the fourth, the Cardinals cut the lead to 2-1. Felix Taveras tripled and scored on a single by Yancel Guerrero.
The Marlins answered with one run in the home fourth to lead 3-1. The Cardinals put up three runs in the top of the fifth to take a 4-3 lead. Heriberto Caraballo drew a walk. Jonathan Mejia singled. Caraballo advanced to third. Luis Pino plated Caraballo on a single. Guerrero drove in Mejia and Pino on a single.
The Marlins quickly tied the game with one run in the bottom of the fifth and added one run in the seventh to win the game 5-4.
The Cardinals scored four runs on six hits. Guerrero was 2-for-4 with three RBI. Pino was 2-for-4 with an RBI.
On the bases, Samil De La Rosa stole his eighth base of the season. De La Rosa was also caught stealing.
On defense, Arfeni Batista made a throwing error.
The Cardinals are 16-28 on the season.

The Dominican Cards’ Tuesday home game with the Twins was suspended due to lightning in the area. It was later cancelled so will not be replayed.
