The St. Louis Cardinals system went 0-1 on Monday as the FCL club lost and the DSL game was suspended. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, OF Jeremy Ramos, hit two home runs for three RBI in the FCL loss. Another standout is Yaisel Ramos.

Memphis Redbirds – Off
In the International League West, the Memphis Redbirds (15-18) are 5.5 games out of first.

Springfield Cardinals – Off
The Springfield Cardinals (17-16) are 0.5 games back of first place in the Texas League North.

Peoria Chiefs – Off
In the Midwest League West, the Peoria Chiefs (21-15) are in second place and sit two games back of first.

Palm Beach Cardinals – Off
The Palm Beach Cardinals (15-19) are tied for second and are one game out of first in the Florida State League East.

FCL Cardinals 8, FCL Nationals 9
Down nine runs, the Florida Complex League Cardinals (16-24) came back, only to be edged by one run as the Nationals (18-21) prevailed in Jupiter on Monday afternoon.
Starter Victor Villanueva pitched three innings and surrendered four runs on four hits and three walks. The 22-year-old fanned six and took his second FCL loss. Ettore Giulianelli yielded three runs with four punchouts in 1 2/3 frames. Samuel Fabian was touched for a run in 1 1/3 innings and Jacob Odle gave up a run in the seventh.
After the Nationals extended their lead to 9-0 in the seventh, the Cardinals attempted a comeback in the final three innings. In the seventh, Jeremy Ramos blasted a solo shot, his first of the year. Felix Taveras doubled in the eighth to score two runs and Maikel Hernandez brought across one with a sacrifice fly. Ramos hit a two-run homer to make the score 9-6.
Randel Clemente walked one in a hitless eighth inning. Alejandro Cervantes tossed a scoreless ninth.
In the home ninth, Adari Grant grounded out to score a run. Yaisel Ramos’ RBI double made the score 9-8. The comeback fell one run short after Taveras grounded out to end the contest.
Coming off the bench, J. Ramos went 2-for-2 with two home runs and three RBI. Also not starting was Y. Ramos, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI. Anyelo Encarnacion recorded a triple, a walk and two runs scored. Taveras doubled and plated two. The lineup went 3-for-9 with runners in scoring position.
In the field, Jose Suarez committed a throwing error.
The Cardinals are in last place, nine games out in the Florida Complex League East.

DSL Cardinals 0 at DSL Mariners 0 (suspended in second inning)
Due to lightning in the area, the Dominican Summer League Cardinals (12-30) and Mariners (22-21) contest was suspended and will be completed on Tuesday.
The Cardinals sit 22 games back of first place in the Dominican Summer League South.
