The St. Louis Cardinals system went 1-4 on Saturday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Brycen Mautz, pitched five scoreless innings with seven strikeouts for Palm Beach. Other standouts include Luken Baker, Alex Cornwell, Ian Bedell and William Sullivan.

The Memphis Redbirds (54-53) fell to the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (MIA, 49-57) on Saturday night at AutoZone Park.
In his first Memphis start and Triple-A debut, Sem Robberse surrendered eight runs, six earned, in 3 1/3 innings on 11 hits and three walks. The 21-year-old fanned one and took the loss. Grant Black yielded a run in 3 2/3 frames with six hits and four punchouts.
Jacksonville and Memphis traded a run in the first inning. Luken Baker grounded into a fielder’s choice and César Prieto came across on an error. In the fifth with the Redbirds down 9-1, Baker plated one with a sacrifice fly and Iván Herrera had an RBI single.
Kyle Leahy pitched two innings and gave up four runs with three strikeouts.
Memphis attempted a comeback in the final innings. Juan Yepez tripled to bring two runs home in the seventh. Moisés Gómez brought across Yepez with a single to make the score 9-6. However, the Jumbo Shrimp scored four runs in the ninth to pull away. Baker blasted a solo home run in the bottom half, his 29th of the season, leading the International League and the Cardinals system.

Masyn Winn, Matt Koperniak, Yepez and Gómez recorded two hits. Baker and Yepez both brought across two runs. The lineup had 12 hits, three walks and left eight runners on base.
On the base paths, Winn took his 17th bag of the season. In the field, Richie Palacios, Kramer Robertson and Prieto committed errors. Koperniak had an outfield assist and the defense turned three double plays.

The Springfield Cardinals (17-15) were blanked by the NW Arkansas Naturals (KC, 16-15) at Hammons Field.
Starter Alex Cornwell took his first Double-A loss after he surrendered one run in five innings with six punchouts. In his first Springfield appearance, Matt Svanson was touched for three runs on two hits, a walk and one strikeout in 1 2/3 frames.
Bryan Pope tossed 1 1/3 innings and gave up a run with two strikeouts. Jose Martinez recorded a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts.
The S-Cards lineup only had three hits and four walks. Pedro Pagés went 2-for-4 with a double. Noah Mendlinger singled and walked twice. Springfield went 0-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
Pagés had a passed ball behind the plate.
Sunday’s game: vs. NW Arkansas, RHP Logan Gragg (3-4, 5.52) vs. TBA 6:05 CT
The Peoria Chiefs (20-15) topped the Quad Cities River Bandits (KC, 12-23) at Dozer Park to extend their winning streak to seven games.
Ian Bedell tossed four scoreless innings on two hits and one walk. TCN’s no. 16 prospect fanned one.
The Chiefs scored all their runs in the first inning. Osvaldo Tovalin grounded out to score one. Jimmy Crooks and Jeremy Rivas both hit RBI singles to make the score 3-0.
Out of the bullpen, Edgar Manzo earned his second win of the season with three no-hit scoreless innings and two strikeouts. Andrew Marrero struck out five in two scoreless frames to earn his 10th save of the season.
Rivas recorded the only multi-hit game with two. Alex Iadisernia had the only extra-base hit, a double. The lineup went 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position.
Iadisernia took his ninth bag in High-A.

In a ninth-inning collapse, the Palm Beach Cardinals (15-18) were defeated by the Jupiter Hammerheads (MIA, 16-19) on Saturday night at The Ballpark of the Palm Beaches.
The Cardinals July Minor League Pitcher of the Month Brycen Mautz fanned seven in his five scoreless inning start with three hits and no walks yielded. The right-hander has thrown 20 consecutive scoreless innings. In relief, Henry Gomez threw two scoreless innings.
The Beach Birds scored their only run in the seventh inning. Brayden Jobert walked and stole second. William Sullivan drove him in with a single.
In his professional debut, Ixan Henderson pitched a scoreless eighth inning. Heading into the ninth and asked to hold the one-run lead, Hunter Hayes stumbled. The right-hander surrendered six runs, one earned, on four hits, two walks and two punchouts to take the blown save and his third loss. His own throwing error made the difference.
The lineup had five hits and six walks. Sullivan was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Zach Levenson doubled. The Cardinals went 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
On the bases, Brayden Jobert took his second bag and Sullivan was caught stealing. In the field, along with Hayes, Dakota Harris committed an error.

In the FCL East, the Florida Complex League Cardinals (16-23) are in last place by nine games.

DSL Cardinals 3 at DSL Yankees Bombers 8
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals (12-30) were bombed by the Yankees Bombers (20-22) on Saturday morning.
Starter Stiveen Rojas pitched two innings and surrendered two runs on three hits and two walks. The 16-year-old fanned three and took his third loss. Jovi Galvez was charged with three runs in 2/3 of an inning. Juan Severino tossed 1 1/3 scoreless frames.
In the third inning, the Cardinals made it 2-1 as Luis Atocha came across on a passed ball. The Yankees scored three runs in the bottom half but the Cardinals put up two in the fourth. Atocha doubled to plate two and make the score 5-3.
Jarol Baez surrendered one run in an inning. Justin Hernandez was touched for two runs in the seventh inning. Braylin Paulino and Kener Perez both tossed a scoreless frame.
Facundo Velasquez and Atocha recorded two hits, with the latter’s both doubles. Atocha drove in two runs. The lineup went 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position.
In the field, Galvez and Chris Lopez both had pickoffs.
