The St. Louis Cardinals system was 3-2 on Tuesday. The Cardinal Nation Players of the Day are the Memphis offense, which routed Nashville 13-2. Thomas Saggese, Colton Ledbetter, Leo Bernal and Ramon Mendoza led the way. Other standouts: Brandt Thompson, Victor Scott, Nolan Gorman, Blake Aita, Jesús Báez, Sammy Hernandez, Yairo Padilla and Roberth Castillo.

The Triple-A Redbirds soundly defeated the Nashville Sounds in a 13-2 rout at AutoZone Park on Tuesday.
Starter Brandt Thompson pitched five innings, gave up one unearned run on six hits, walked one and struck out three to earn his second Triple-A win.
Cade Winquest relieved Thompson and threw two scoreless innings. Ryan Fernandez hurled a scoreless eighth. Austin Love surrendered one run in the ninth.
Memphis went up 8-0 in the second inning. Leo Bernal singled. Thomas Saggese doubled to score Bernal. Colton Ledbetter singled to plate Saggese. Ledbetter scored on a triple by Noah Mendlinger. Victor Scott walked. Ramón Urias singled and Mendlinger came home. Nolan Gorman blasted a three-run home run. Joshua Báez singled and stole second base. Bernal walked. Ledbetter singled to score Báez, but Ledbetter was thrown out at second.

The Redbirds added two runs in the third to increase the lead to 10-0. Ramon Mendoza and Scott singled. Gorman walked. Báez walked and Mendoza scored. Bernal drove in Scott on a single.
Nashville scored a run in the fourth to cut the lead to 10-1.
Memphis put up a run in the seventh to lead 11-1. Mendoza singled. Mendlinger grounded into a force out, eliminating Mendoza. Mendlinger later scored on a single by Chase Davis.
The Redbirds made it 13-1 in the eighth. Bernal singled and Saggese followed with a two-run home run.

The Sounds scored one more run in the ninth for the final score of 13-2.
The Redbirds scored 13 runs on 20 hits. Saggese was 2-for-5 with three RBI and two runs scored. Ledbetter was 2-for-5 with two RBI. Bernal was 4-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Mendoza was 4-for-5. Scott was 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Gorman had three RBI. Mendlinger scored two runs.
Scott stole his 11th base. Báez swiped his eighth bag.
Gorman made a fielding error.
Memphis is 14-20 in the second half.

Springfield 5 at San Antonio 2
The Double-A Cardinals defeated the Missions by the score of 5-2 in San Antonion on Tuesday.
Starter Blake Aita pitched 6 1/3 innings, gave up one run on five hits, and fanned six to earn his first win for Springfield.
Nolan Sparks relieved Aita and finished the seventh cleanly. Jack Findlay surrendered one run in the eighth. Darlin Saladin tossed a scoreless ninth.
San Antonio went up 1-0 in the first inning.
Springfield tied the game in the second. Won-Bin Cho singled and stole second base. Tre Richardson walked. Tai Peete singled to score Cho.
The Cardinals added two runs in the third to go ahead 3-1. Ryan Campos walked. Deniel Ortiz doubled to plate Campos. Cho walked. Zach Levenson singled to score Ortiz.
In the top of the eighth, Springfield extended their lead to 5-1. Jack Gurevitch singled. Jesús Báez hit a two-run home run.

The Missions added a run in the bottom of the eighth for the final score of 5-2.
The Cardinals scored five runs on 12 hits. Levenson was 3-for-5 with an RBI. In his Double-A debut, Peete was 2-for-5 with an RBI. Campos was 2-for-4. Báez had two RBI.
Cho stole his third base for Springfield. Peete swiped his first bag for the Cardinals.
Springfield is 23-11 in the second half.
Wednesday’s game: at San Antonio, Yhoiker Fajardo RHP (0-0, 0.00) vs. Ian Koenig RHP (3-9, 4.89) 7:05 CT.
The High-A Chiefs lost to the River Bandits in a 7-3 game at Dozer Park on Tuesday.
Starter Jacob Odle pitched four innings, gave up three runs on five hits, walked two and fanned eight. Odle took the loss.
Jawilme Ramírez relieved Odle and surrendered two runs in two innings. Christian Worley relinquished two runs, one earned, in the seventh. Bobby Olsen tossed the final two scoreless innings.
Quad Cities went up 3-0 in the second inning.
Peoria scored in the third on a solo home run by Sammy Hernandez.

The River Bandits added two runs in the fifth to extend the lead to 5-1. They made it 7-1 in the seventh.
The Chiefs partially rallied for two runs in the ninth to bring the final score to 5-3. Brayden Smith walked and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Hernandez blasted a two-run home run.

The offense scored three runs on six hits. Hernandez was 2-for-4 with two home runs, three RBI and two runs scored. Josh Kross was 2-for-4.

The Low-A Cardinals fell to the Hammerheads by a 5-3 score on Tuesday.
Starter Payton Graham pitched four innings, gave up five runs on six hits, walked four and struck out one. Graham took the loss.
The first two relievers made their professional debuts. Brian Garmon relieved Graham and threw a scoreless fifth. Dallis Moran hurled 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Liam Best tossed the final 2 1/3 innings on one hit and no runs.

Palm Beach answered with a run in the home half of the third to cut the lead to 3-2. Alex Birge reached on an error and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Yairo Padilla doubled to plate Birge.
The Hammerheads added two runs in the sixth to extend the lead to 5-3.
The Cardinals added one run in the ninth to bring the final score to 5-3. Dos Santos walked, advanced to second on a wild pitch, and scored on a double by Padilla.
The Cardinals scored three runs on six hits. Padilla was 2-for-5 with two RBI. Jonathan Mejía was 2-for-2. Dos Santos homered and scored two runs.
Padilla stole his ninth base. Mejía swiped his ninth bag. Miguel Hernández was caught stealing. Mejía was picked off second base.

DSL Cardinals 9 at DSL Marlins 5 (seven innings)
The academy Cardinals defeated the Marlins by a 9-5 score on Tuesday.
Starter Jose Vega pitched three innings, gave up two runs on two hits, walked five and struck out two.
Rafeli Moronta relieved Vega and surrendered two runs in three innings and was awarded the win. Rayner Reyes allowed one run in the seventh.
The Cardinals took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Sebastian Rojas walked and advanced to second and third on two wild pitches. Misael Sánchez reached on an error and Rojas came home.
The Marlins scored twice in the third to take the lead.
In the top of the fourth, the Cardinals plated two runs to regain the lead 3-2. Jhon Franganten doubled. Sánchez walked. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch. Lucas Takahashi walked. Roberth Castillo ground into a force out. Franganten scored. Sánchez advanced to third. Takahashi was out at second. Sánchez stole home.
The Marlins answered with two runs in the home fourth retake the lead at 4-3.
The Cardinals responded with a six-run fifth inning to go ahead 9-4. Diego Conseción walked. Rojas singled. Franganten singled to score Conseción. Rojas came home on a wild pitch. Takahashi walked. Castillo blasted a grand slam.
The Marlins added one run in the ninth to bring the final score to 9-5.
The Cardinals scored nine runs on five hits. Castillo was 2-for-3 with five RBI. Franganten was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Rojas and Sánchez each scored two runs.
Sánchez stole his fourth base. Castillo swiped his third bag.
Vega picked a runner off first base and a runner off second base.
The Cardinals are 22-22 on the season and are in fourth place in the DSL Southeast.
