The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was 0-1 on Monday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, DSL reliever Javier Martínez, pitched 3 ⅓ scoreless, no-hit innings. Other standouts include Lucas Takahashi, Juan Santillán and Misael Sánchez.

Memphis Redbirds (off day)
The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds were off Monday, as they headed home to AutoZone Park for a six-game set with the Nashville Sounds, starting Tuesday.
The Redbirds look to gain momentum after a 4-2 series loss to Jacksonville.
Outfielder Joshua Báez has put together a dominant offensive season in Triple-A. The 22-year-old leads the International League in home runs (32) and RBI (83) and tied with Colton Ledbetter for the most steals on the Redbirds (17). Báez also leads the team in hits at 95. Leo Bernal has also put together a solid season with the Redbirds. The catcher is hitting .280 with 14 home runs among 85 hits and 65 RBI.
On the mound, Quinn Mathews has totaled the most strikeouts at 111 across 92 innings with a strong 3.13 ERA, and made his MLB debut on Saturday, August 1 against the Blue Jays.
Memphis is 13-20 in the second half and 60-48 overall. They reside in eighth place in the International League West Division.
Tuesday’s game: vs. Nashville (MIL). Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 6:45 PM CT.
Springfield Cardinals (off day)
The Double-A Springfield Cardinals were off Monday, as they traveled to Nelson Wolff Stadium in San Antonio, Texas, for a six-game series with the San Antonio Missions, starting Tuesday.
The Cardinals enter the week with momentum after winning five of six at home over the Wichita Wind Surge.
Rainiel Rodriguez’s bat has been scorching hot in recent games as his batting average has soared to a team-best .290. The catcher has also hit 12 home runs with 36 RBI with 65 hits across 57 games. The organization’s top prospect was named the Texas League Player of the Week following an impressive stretch of play.

Jesús Báez has swung a hot bat in Double-A, hitting .277 with 14 home runs to lead the team in long balls and 32 RBI in 29 games.
On the mound, Braden Davis leads pitchers with 108 strikeouts in a team-high 85 innings. Liam Doyle has also showcased the strikeout pitch with 92 across 71 ⅔ innings. José Davila has thrown four shutout innings and allowed just two hits in his first Double-A action.
Springfield is 22-11 in the second half and 53-48 overall. They hold a three-game lead in the Texas League North Division.

Peoria Chiefs (off day)
The High-A Peoria Chiefs were off Monday, as they headed home to Dozer Park for a six-game set with the Quad Cities River Bandits, starting Tuesday.
Peoria enters the week red-hot after a six-game road sweep of the Cedar Rapids Kernels.
On offense, Jalin Flores leads the Chiefs with 88 hits and 67 RBI and has hit 13 home runs. Jack Gurevitch leads the Chiefs with 17 home runs and is hitting .302 with 43 RBI across 59 games.
On the mound, Yhoiker Fajardo has tallied the most strikeouts on the staff at 104. Tanner Franklin moved into second place with 91 and his recent stretch of strong starts earned him a promotion to Double-A. Jacob Odle has pitched to a solid 3.55 ERA with 51 strikeouts across his first 38 frames with Peoria.
Peoria is 19-16 in the second half and 51-50 overall after the sweep of the Kernels. They are in third place in the Midwest League West Division, 3.5 games behind first place.
Tuesday’s game: vs. Quad Cities (KC). Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 6:35 PM CT.
Palm Beach Cardinals (off day)
The Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals were off Monday as they headed home to Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium for a six-game series with the Jupiter Hammerheads, starting Tuesday.
The Cardinals enter the week following a series split with Fort Myers on the road.
Yordalin Peña holds the team lead in home runs (15) and RBI (58). Peña has also tallied a team-best 82 hits, with Brayden Smith in second place with 73 hits. Ryan Mitchell has drawn the most walks on the team at 83.
On the mound, left-hander Cade Crossland has thrown a team-high 70 innings across 19 appearances and 18 starts, striking out a team-best 106. Crossland has also won four contests. Right-hander Andrew Dutkanych IV collected his third career win, and first as a professional starting pitcher, on Thursday with five scoreless innings and seven strikeouts to earn Florida State League Pitcher of the Week honors.

Palm Beach is 19-16 in the second half and 52-49 overall after the series split with Fort Myers. They are 3.5 games back of first place in the Florida State League East Division.

DSL Cardinals 2 at DSL Angels 5 (7 innings)
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals dropped a close seven-inning contest to the DSL Angels on Monday.
Daniel Gómez made his eighth start in his ninth appearance for the Cardinals. The right-hander threw two innings and allowed five runs, two earned, on four hits, one walk, and two strikeouts, taking the loss.
Javier Martínez fired 3 ⅓ scoreless, no-hit innings with a pair of strikeouts in relief of Gómez. Juan Santillán secured the final two outs of the sixth via strikeouts.
The Cardinals opened the scoring with a run in the top of the second inning. Lucas Takahashi led off the frame with a triple. With one out, Takahashi crossed home plate on a wild pitch.
The Angels scored five runs in the home second to jump ahead 5-1.
With three outs remaining, the Cardinals looked to rally in the seventh. Christopher Vargas walked. Jhonny Chaparro reached on a throwing error from the second baseman, allowing both runners to get into scoring position. Vargas scored on a wild pitch. Diego Conseción walked to bring the tying run to the batter’s box, but a forceout cut the rally short.
The DSL Cardinals scored two runs on four hits. Takahashi walked, tripled, and scored. Vargas walked and scored. Misael Sánchez drew a walk and singled. Jesús Pérez singled. The lineup was 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
Sánchez was caught stealing second base.
On defense, third baseman Michael Cordero committed two errors, one fielding and one throwing.
The DSL Cardinals are 21-22 on the season. They will play a road contest with the DSL Marlins on Tuesday.
