The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was 2-2 on Sunday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Springfield’s Rainiel Rodriguez, singled, doubled and homered for three RBI. Other standouts: Tre Richardson III, Jesús Báez, Won-Bin Cho, Patrick Galle, Trey Pooser and Trevor Haskins.

Memphis Redbirds 1 at Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp 10 (7 innings)
The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds lost a rain-shortened series finale to the Jumbo Shrimp in Jacksonville on Sunday.
Mason Molina started for Memphis. The left-hander pitched 1 ⅔ innings and allowed five runs on six hits, two walks, and two strikeouts, taking the loss.
Jared Shuster yielded two runs across 2 ⅓ innings in relief of Molina. Brycen Mautz gave up three runs but recorded just two outs. Victor Santos tossed a shutout sixth frame. Ryan Murphy recorded two outs prior to the game being called due to rain.
Jacksonville opened the scoring with a run in the bottom of the first inning, added four in the second, two in the fourth and three in the fifth to increase the lead to 10-0.
Memphis entered the run column in the sixth. With two outs, Victor Scott II reached on a fielding error and moved to third base on a Joshua Báez double. Nolan Gorman walked to load the bases. Leo Bernal took a second consecutive walk to force Scott II home.
Rain cut the afternoon contest short to prevent the Redbirds from rallying further.
The Redbirds scored one run on three hits. Báez doubled. Bernal walked, singled, and drove in a run. Chase Davis singled.
On the bases, Bernal was caught stealing second base.
On defense, right fielder Davis threw a runner out at home plate to highlight an errorless team game.
Memphis is 13-20 in the second half and 60-48 overall after taking just two of six in Jacksonville. They reside in eighth place in the International League West Division. The Redbirds are off Monday as they head home to AutoZone Park for a six-game set with the Nashville Sounds, starting Tuesday.

Springfield Cardinals 9, Wichita Wind Surge 2
The Double-A Springfield Cardinals slugged four home runs and bested the Wichita Wind Surge at Route 66 Stadium in Sunday’s series finale.
Braden Davis made his 20th start for Springfield. The left-hander threw 3 ⅔ innings and allowed two runs on three hits, two walks and seven strikeouts.
Tyler Bradt fired 1 ⅓ scoreless innings in relief of Davis and picked up his second win. Hunter Hayes followed with a shutout sixth. José Davila, D.J. Carpenter, and Michael Watson each threw a scoreless, no-hit frame to finish the game.
The Cardinals struck first with a run in the bottom of the first inning. Jesús Báez crushed a lead-off home run, his 14th at Double-A.

Springfield plated a pair of runs in the home third. Báez walked and scored on a two-run shot from Rainiel Rodriguez, his 12th Double-A home run of 2026.

Wichita hit two solo home runs in the top of the fourth inning to move within a run at 3-2.
The Cardinals took both runs back in the home half of the frame. Won-Bin Cho drew a walk and came home on a home run from Tre Richardson III, his sixth with Springfield, for a 5-2 Springfield lead.

The Cardinals added a run in the sixth. Richardson III walked, stole second and moved to third on a groundout. Jon Jon Gazdar lined a single to bring Richardson III home and widen the lead to 6-2.
The Cardinals scored three insurance runs in the seventh. Báez began the frame with a single and moved to third base on a Rodriguez double.

Ryan Campos brought Báez home via a sacrifice fly for a 7-2 lead. With two outs, Cho pounded his 11th Double-A home run, a two-run blast, to stretch the Springfield lead to 9-2.

Springfield hit more home runs (4) than hits allowed (3) in the victory.
The Cardinals scored nine runs on nine hits. Rodriguez was 3-for-5 with a double, a home run, two runs scored, and two RBI. Báez was a perfect 2-for-2, including two walks, three runs scored, and a home run. Richardson III went 2-for-3, including a walk, a double, two runs scored, a home run, and two RBI. Cho walked twice, scored twice, hit a home run, and drove in two runs. Gazdar singled and drove in a run. Campos walked and notched an RBI.
On the bases, Báez stole his first Double-A bag. Richardson III swiped his 16th base with Springfield. Gazdar notched his 10th steal. Cho was caught stealing second base and picked off first.
On defense, pitcher Davila picked a runner off first base. The Cardinals turned two double plays in an errorless performance.
Springfield is 22-11 in the second half and 53-48 overall after winning five of six over Wichita. They hold a three-game lead in the Texas League North Division. The Cardinals are off Monday as they head to Nelson Wolff Stadium in San Antonio, Texas, for a six-game series with the San Antonio Missions, starting Tuesday.

Peoria Chiefs 3 at Cedar Rapids Kernels 2
Despite just three hits, the High-A Peoria Chiefs won their sixth consecutive contest over the Cedar Rapids Kernels to secure a rare road series sweep on Sunday.
Nate Dohm started his 12th game in his 18th appearance for the Chiefs. The right-hander tossed three innings and allowed one run on four hits, no walk and three strikeouts.
Patrick Galle pitched two scoreless innings in relief of Dohm and collected his second win with Peoria. Trey Pooser followed with two shutout frames. Dylan Driessen yielded a run in the eighth. Rubén Menes fired a scoreless ninth for his second save with the Chiefs.
Cedar Rapids scored the first run of the game in the bottom of the second inning.
Peoria grabbed the lead with a three-run fourth. Josh Kross and Cade McGee walked. Michael Dattalo singled to load the bases. Anyelo Encarnación took a bases-loaded walk to score Kross. Chase Heath brought McGee home on a sacrifice fly.

The Kernels scored a run in the home eighth to narrow the score to 3-2, but Menes stranded two runners on base in the ninth to seal the win.
The Chiefs scored three runs on just three hits, all singles. Encarnación and Heath each drew two walks and notched an RBI. Nickens tallied a hit and an RBI. Dattalo collected a hit and scored a run. Kross walked twice and scored. McGee walked and crossed home plate.
On the bases, Tai Peete was caught stealing second base.
The Chiefs did not commit an error.
Peoria is 19-16 in the second half and 51-50 overall after the sweep of the Kernels. They are in third place in the Midwest League West Division, 3.5 games behind first place. The Chiefs are off Monday and will head home to Dozer Park for a six-game set with the Quad Cities River Bandits, starting Tuesday.

Palm Beach Cardinals 3 at Fort Myers Mighty Mussels 20
The Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals dropped a lopsided series finale on the road to the Fort Myers Mighty Mussels on Sunday.
Keiverson Ramírez started for Palm Beach. The right-hander threw 1 ⅔ innings and allowed seven runs, six earned, on six hits, three walks, and two strikeouts, taking the loss.
Nathan Shinn gave up five unearned runs across 2 ⅔ innings in relief of Ramírez. Justin Militello surrendered five runs and recorded just two outs. Jesús García followed and yielded three runs over two innings. Antoni Cuello struck out the side in a scoreless eighth.
The Cardinals jumped ahead with a three-run top of the second inning. Ryan Weingartner walked and Miguel Hernández singled. J.P. Cabrera reached on a fielder’s choice, with Weingartner out at home. Trevor Haskins belted his 10th home run of the year, a three-run shot, to put Palm Beach in front 3-0.
Fort Myers blew the game open with 10 runs in the home second and two in the third to move ahead 12-3. The Mighty Mussels added five runs in the sixth and three in the seventh to widen the score to 20-3. The Cardinals were unable to respond.
Palm Beach scored three runs on four hits. Haskins homered for all three Cardinals RBI. Hernández singled and scored a run. Brayden Smith walked and hit a single. Mejía singled.
The Cardinals did not steal a base.
On defense, third baseman Mejía committed three errors, one fielding and two on throws. Shortstop Hernández made two throwing errors. Ryan Mitchell threw a runner out at third base from center field.
Palm Beach is 19-16 in the second half and 52-49 overall after the series split with Fort Myers. They are 3.5 games behind first place in the Florida State League East Division. The Cardinals are off Monday and head home to Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium for a six-game series with the Jupiter Hammerheads, starting Tuesday.

DSL Cardinals (off day)
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals were off Sunday, as they prepared for a home contest with the DSL Angels on Monday.
The Cardinals enter the week with momentum following a 17-4 home victory over the DSL Rangers Red.
The DSL Cardinals are 21-21 on the season.
