On Friday, the St. Louis Cardinals system took four losses by a total of six runs. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Palm Beach 1B Jack Gurevitch, homered, singled, walked and drove in three. Other standouts include Zach Levenson, Jesus Baez, Ty Van Dyke and Matthew Miura.

The Triple-A Redbirds lost to the Stripers by the score of 4-3 at AutoZone Park on Friday.
Starter Aaron Wilkerson pitched seven innings, gave up three runs on six hits and fanned four.
St. Louis rehabber John King relieved Wilkerson, surrendered one run in 2/3 of n inning and took the loss. Chris Roycroft tossed the final 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
Gwinnett went up 3-0 in the top of the second inning.
Memphis scored one run in the home half of the inning. Blaze Jordan reached on an error. César Prieto and Matt Lloyd walked. Noah Mendlinger grounded into a double play as Jordan scored.
The Redbirds tied the game with two runs in the fourth. Prieto walked. Lloyd doubled to plate Prieto. Lloyd later scored on a ground out by Bryan Torres.
The Stripers broke the tie with a run against King in the eighth to win 4-3.
The Redbirds scored three runs on four hits. JJ Wetherholt was 2-for-4 and he stole his fifth base since joining Memphis.
Memphis is 65-57 overall, 24-25 in the second half. The Redbirds are 10 games back of Scranton in the International League standings.
Saturday’s game: vs. Gwinnett, Curtis Taylor RHP (8-4, 3.56) vs. Jose Suarez LHP (0-1, 4.24) 6:35 CT. Defending NL Cy Young Award winner Chris Sale, rehabbing with Gwinnett, is also scheduled to pitch.
The Double-A Cardinals were defeated by the Travelers by a 5-3 score on Friday. Starter Pete Hansen pitched 4 1/3 innings, gave up three runs, two earned, on five hits, struck out three and walked three.
Jack Ralston relieved Hansen, surrendered two runs in 2 1/3 innings and took the loss. Randel Clemente tossed the final 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
Arkansas scored single runs in the second and fourth innings to lead 2-0.
In the top of the fifth, Springfield tied the game at 2-2. Joshua Baez and Zach Levenson singled. Baez was caught stealing third base. Ramon Mendoza singled to score Levenson. Graysen Tarlow singled. Mendoza crossed the plate on a single by Brody Moore.
The Travelers regained the lead with a run in the home fifth. The Cardinals tied the game again in the sixth. Leonardo Bernal singled and advanced to third on an error. Bernal came home on a sac fly by Baez.
Arkansas put up two unanswered runs against Ralston in the seventh to win the game 5-3.
The offense scored three runs on nine hits. Levenson was 4-for-4 including a double and scored once.
On the bases, Baez was caught stealing. On defense, Mendoza made three fielding errors at the hot corner.
Springfield is 73-45 overall, 30-19 in the second half and is in first place the Texas League North by one game over Tulsa.
Saturday’s game: at Arkansas, TBA vs. Michael Morales RHP (2-6, 4.95) 6:05 CT.
The High-A Chiefs fell to the Dragons by a 5-3 score in Dayton on Friday, dropping their current road trip record to 1-9. Starter Braden Davis pitched four innings, gave up four runs on three hits, fanned seven and walked three. Davis took the loss.
Benjamin Arias relieved Davis and surrendered one run in 2 1/3 innings. Aaron Holiday tossed the final 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
Dayton went up 4-0 in the fourth inning and added a run in the fifth.
The Chiefs scored one run in the sixth. Tre Richardson singled. Jon Jon Gazdar walked. Ryan Campos single to plate Richardson.
Peoria added two runs in the eighth to shrink the lead to 5-3. Campos tripled. Jesus Baez followed with a two-run home run, his second long ball in two nights.

The Chiefs scored three runs on seven hits. Campos and Jose Cordoba were 2-for-4. Baez had two RBI.
Gazdar stole his 17th base of the season. On defense, Won-Bin Cho made a fielding error.
Peoria is 44-72 overall, 18-33 in the second half, and is fifth place in the Midwest League West, 10 games back of Beloit.
Saturday’s game: at Dayton, Jose Davila RHP (3-6, 5.90) vs. Nick Sando LHP (2-3, 4.94) 6:05 CT.
Palm Beach 9, St. Lucie 10 (11 innings)
The High-A Cardinals were edged by the Mets in 11 innings at Roger Dean Stadium on Friday.
Starter Ty Van Dyke pitched three scoreless, no-hit innings with two strikeouts. Through his first eight professional innings, the Cardinals’ 10th-rounder this July has allowed no runs on just one hit, one walk and fanned six.
Bobby Olsen relieved Van Dyke and surrendered two runs in three innings. Zack Showalter threw two scoreless innings. In his Beach Birds debut, Jovi Galvez yielded four runs in the ninth. Sam Brodersen allowed four runs, one earned, in the final two innings and took the loss.
St. Lucie took a 1-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning. The Beach Birds tied the score in the home half. Jalin Flores singled and stole second base. Cameron Nickens singled to plate Flores.
The Mets added a run in the fifth to take a 2-1 lead, which remained until the top of the ninth when the Mets scored four runs.
The Cardinals were undaunted and put up five runs in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game. Nickens, Chase Heath and Ryan Weingartner walked. Yordalin Pena was hit by a pitch and Nickens scored. Matthew Miura doubled to clear the bases for three runs. Jack Gurevitch drove in Miura on a single.
St. Lucie scored in the top of the ninth, but Palm Beach responded with a run in the bottom of the inning and the game was again tied. Michael Dattalo started the inning on second base and came home on a single by Weingartner.
The game went into the 11th when the Mets put up three runs to take the lead 10-7. The Cardinals rallied in the bottom frame but fell short with two runs on a home run by Gurevitch for the final score of 10-9.
The offense scored nine runs on eight hits. Gurevitch was 2-for-5 with three RBI. Weingartner was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Miura had three RBI. Pena scored two runs.
Flores stole his first base. Weingartner swiped his third bag. Nickens was caught stealing.
On defense, third baseman Dattalo committed a costly fielding error in the top of the 11th. Miura had an outfield assist at home plate.
Palm Beach is 56-60 on the season, 24-27 in the second half, and is in third place in the FSL East 11.5 games back of St. Lucie.
