The St. Louis Cardinals system was 4-0 on Tuesday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Memphis CF Richie Palacios, was 3-for-5 with five RBI and two runs scored in Memphis’ big win. Other standouts include Ivan Herrera, Mike Antico, Trent Baker and Hancel Rincon.

With a season-high outburst of 17 runs scored, the Memphis Redbirds trounced the Jumbo Shrimp by 12 on Tuesday at AutoZone Park. Starter Casey Lawrence pitched 5 1/3 innings, gave up three runs on six hits and struck out five to earn his fourth win.
Ryan Loutos relieved Lawrence and threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Guillermo Zuniga relinquished two runs in the ninth.
Memphis scored big in the third inning, plating nine runs to take a commanding lead. Nick Dunn, Richie Palacios and Masyn Winn walked. Ivan Herrera doubled and cleared the bases. Herrera went to third on a wild pitch and scored on a fielder’s choice by Luken Baker. Matt Koperniak singled. Juan Yepez walked. Baker and Koperniak came home on a double by Moises Gomez. Nick Dunn walked. Juniel Querecuto walked and Yepez scored. Palacios plated Gomez and Dunn on a single.

Jacksonville scored three in the fifth to cut the lead to 9-3. The Redbirds answered with four more in the sixth. The first run was forced in by consecutive walks to Herrera, Baker, Koperniak and Yepez. Baker scored on a Dunn walk. Palacios doubled to plate Koperniak and Yepez.

Baker thumped a solo home run in the seventh, his 26th of the year, to widen the lead to 14-3. In the eighth, three more runs came home for a 17-3 lead. Gomez and Dunn singled. Gomez was driven in on a double by Palacios. Dunn scored on a sac fly by Winn. Herrera plated Palacios on a single.
The Jumbo Shrimp scored their final two runs in the ninth.
Palacios was 3-for-5 with five RBI and two runs scored. Herrera was 2-for-5 with four RBI and two runs scored. Gomez was 2-for-5 with two RBI and two runs scored. Baker was 2-for-5 with two RBI and three runs scored. Dunn was 2-for-2 with an RBI and three runs scored. Koperniak was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
The Memphis Redbirds (53-50) are four games out of first place in the International League West.

The Springfield Cardinals blew past the Naturals with a six-run home victory on Tuesday. Starter Wilfredo Pereira pitched six innings, gave up two runs on six hits and struck out four to earn his sixth win of the season.
Logan Sawyer threw three scoreless innings of relief to earn his seventh save.
Springfield took a commanding lead with six runs in the third inning. Errol Robinson doubled, Victor Scott II singled, and Mike Antico followed with a three-run home run. Thomas Saggese singled and Jacob Buchberger thumped a two-run long ball. Pedro Pages doubled and scored on a single by L.J. Jones.

NW Arkansas answered with single runs in the fourth and the fifth to cut the lead to 6-2. The Cardinals added a run in the home fifth as Pages doubled and came home on a single by Arquimedes Gamboa.
The Cardinals scored their final run in the sixth. Scott II singled and later crossed the plate after a wild pitch.
Antico was 2-for-5 with three RBI. Gamboa was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Pages was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Buchberger drove in two.
On the base paths, Scott II stole his 18th base at Double-A and 68th overall in 2023. In the field, Robinson had an outfield assist at home plate.
In the Texas League North, the Springfield Cardinals (15-13) are in second place, 0.5 game out of first.
Wednesday’s game: vs. NW Arkansas, Connor Lunn RHP (4-5, 4.97) vs. Chandler Champlain RHP (2-2, 3.41) 6:35 CT.
The Peoria Chiefs edged the River Bandits in a one run home win on Tuesday. Starter Trent Baker pitched seven scoreless innings, allowed three hits, struck out one and walked one to earn his fifth win of the season.
Gustave Rodriguez relieved Baker and surrendered two runs in 1 2/3 innings. Andrew Marrero secured the final out on a strikeout with the bases loaded to earn his ninth save.
The game was scoreless until the fourth inning, when Peoria took a 2-0 lead. Nathan Church and R.J. Yeager singled and both were driven in on a double by Chris Rotondo.
The Chiefs added a run in the eighth. Alex ladisernia walked and later scored on a single by Yeager.
Quad Cities cut the lead to 3-2 in the ninth, but Marrero closed the door.
Yeager was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Rotondo drove in two.
On the base paths, Jeremy Rivas stole his 12th base of the season. ladisernia swiped his eighth bag. Brody Moore was caught stealing.
In the field, Moore made a throwing error.
With three straight wins after nine consecutive losses, the Peoria Chiefs (16-15) hold second place in the Midwest League West, 2.5 games back of first.

The Palm Beach Cardinals defeated the Hammerheads in a 5-3 home win on Tuesday. Starter Hancel Rincon pitched six innings, gave up two unearned runs on three hits, and struck out six to earn his eighth win of the season.
Hunter Hayes relieved Rincon and surrendered one run in the final three innings.
The Cardinals took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Won-Bin Cho and Dakota Harris singled. Cho scored on a single by Michael Curialle. Harris came home on a ground out by Chase Davis.
The Beach Birds increased the lead to 3-0 in the fourth. Zach Levenson walked and later crossed the plate on a single by William Sullivan. In the fifth, Palm Beach added a run in the fifth to make it 4-0. Harris was hit by a pitch. Curialle doubled. Harris was driven in by Levenson’s sac fly.
Jupiter scored two runs in the sixth to cut the lead to 4-2. The Cardinals added their final run in the eighth. Levenson singled and later came home on Joshua Baez’ RBI single.
The Hammerheads made it 5-3 in the ninth.
Curialle was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Baez was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Harris was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
On the base paths, Sullivan stole the first base of his pro career. Curialle was caught stealing for the seventh time.
Sullivan and Lizandro Espinoza committed fielding errors.
By defeating first place Jupiter, the Palm Beach Cardinals (13-16) tied them for the lead in the Florida State League East.
