The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was 1-0 on Monday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, DSL Cardinals infielder Cristofer Lebron, was 2-for-3, including a double, plus two walks, a stolen base, and two RBI. Other standouts include Christian Saez, Yeferson Portolatin, Sebastian Dos Santos and Juan Garcia. We also set up this week’s series.

Memphis Redbirds (off-day)
The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds were off Monday, as they headed home to AutoZone Park for a six-game set with the Gwinnett Stripers (ATL), beginning Tuesday.
Memphis enters Tuesday on a five-game winning streak.
Catcher Jimmy Crooks continues to power the Redbirds lineup, leading the team with 13 home runs and 74 RBI. No other Redbird has driven in more than 57. Crooks ranks second with 98 hits. César Prieto is the lone Memphis hitter with over 100 hits at 102. The organization’s top prospect, JJ Wetherholt, has not slowed down since his promotion to Memphis. The 22-year-old has logged defensive innings at second base, third base, and shortstop, and is hitting .310 with nine home runs and 17 RBI in 26 games.

Redbirds outfielder Nathan Church received his first call to the Major League club on Sunday.
Curtis Taylor has been the workhorse in the starting rotation. Taylor has thrown 111 ⅓ innings, the most on the team, across 26 appearances, 19 starts, and is 8-4 with a 3.56 ERA with a team-best 98 strikeouts.
Memphis is 64-54 overall, and 23-22 in the second half. They reside in third place in the International League West Division, nine games out of first place.
Tuesday’s game: vs. Gwinnett (ATL), Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 6:45 PM CT.
Springfield Cardinals (off-day)
The Double-A Springfield Cardinals were off Monday, as they traveled to Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock, Arkansas, for a six-game set with the Arkansas Travelers, starting Tuesday.
Springfield enters Tuesday following a series split with Wichita at Hammons Field.
Catcher Leonardo Bernal and infielder Ramon Mendoza are tied for the team-lead with 13 home runs. Bernal leads the club with 62 RBI and is second on the team in batting average (.270) and hits (86). Noah Mendlinger leads the club with a .279 batting average. In just 59 games with the Cardinals, Joshua Baez leads the team with 26 stolen bases.
On the mound, Ixan Henderson has sparkled in his 20 starts this season. The left-hander holds the lowest ERA of any pitcher in the St. Louis Cardinals system with at least 50 innings (2.42) and has won eight games with 115 strikeouts across 107 ⅔ innings in 2025. On Monday, Henderson was named the Texas League Pitcher of the Week.

Despite a 5.07 ERA, reliever Luis Gastelum has saved a team-best seven games and ranks fourth on the roster with 75 strikeouts in just 49 ⅔ frames.
Springfield is 72-42 overall, and 29-16 in the second half. They hold a two-game lead in the Texas League North Division.

Peoria Chiefs (off-day)
The High-A Peoria Chiefs were off Monday, as they traveled to Day Air Ballpark in Dayton, Ohio, for a six-game series with the Dayton Dragons, starting Tuesday.
The Chiefs snapped their six-game losing skid on Sunday with a win at the Lake County Captains.
First baseman Josh Kross leads Peoria with eight home runs and is tied with Ryan Campos for second place in RBI at 43, one behind Ian Petrutz (44). Infielder Jon Jon Gazdar has racked up the most hits for the Chiefs at 91, with no other Chief reaching 80 hits.
On the mound, Braden Davis continues his impressive run at the High-A level. The left-hander has a 1.09 ERA with a 2-0 record in five starts with the Chiefs. The 22-year-old has allowed just three earned runs across 20 ⅔ innings with 33 strikeouts.
Peoria native Mason Burns has been one of the Chiefs’ best relievers since his promotion to High-A on July 1. The 23-year-old holds a 1.89 ERA over 19 innings across 12 appearances, with 20 strikeouts to just seven walks.
Peoria is 44-68 overall, and 18-29 in the second half after dropping five of six in Lake County. They reside in fifth place in the six-team Midwest League West Division.

Palm Beach Cardinals (off-day)
The Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals were off Monday, as they prepared for a six-game series against the St. Lucie Mets, starting Tuesday at Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium.
The Cardinals enter Tuesday following a series split with Bradenton.
Third baseman Cade McGee leads players currently on the roster with nine home runs, 50 RBI and 22 stolen bases. Outfielder Yordalin Pena leads the team with 75 hits and 19 doubles. Shortstop Jonathan Mejia has tallied a team-best six triples.
On the mound, right-hander Leonel Sequera leads pitchers currently on the roster with 94 ⅓ innings pitched and leads pitchers on the roster with 81 strikeouts. Sequera’s best start came last Tuesday with a win over Bradenton, earning him Florida State League Pitcher of the Week honors.

Palm Beach is 55-57 overall, and 23-24 in the second half following the series split with Bradenton. They reside in third place in the Florida State League East Division but will have an opportunity to gain ground in the standings to the first-place St. Lucie Mets.

DSL Cardinals 9 at DSL Phillies White 1
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals bested the DSL Phillies White in the second-to-last game of the season.
Juan Garcia made his 10th career start for the Cardinals. The right-hander pitched five innings and allowed one run on two hits, one walk, and six strikeouts. Garcia earned his fourth win.
Kriscol Peralta fanned two across a pair of scoreless innings in relief. Pedro Olivero finished the game with two shutout frames.
The Phillies White took a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
The Cardinals answered with a three-run top of the second. Cristofer Lebron singled and stole second. Christian Saez hit his first triple of the season to score Lebron. Saez crossed home plate on a Jhonny Chaparro groundout. Lucas Takahashi walked, and moved to third base on a single from Royelny Strop. Yeferson Portolatin hit a second consecutive single to bring Takahashi to the plate for a 3-1 lead.
The Cardinals added a run in the fourth. With two outs, Portolatin walked, stole second and took third on a passed ball. Sebastian Dos Santos drew a walk and swiped second base. Portolatin touched home plate via a balk, for a 4-1 Cardinals lead.
The Cardinals widened the lead to four in the sixth. Strop doubled and moved to third on a Portolatin single. Portolatin stole his second base of the game to move into scoring position. Dos Santos drove in Strop with a sacrifice fly to move the Cardinals ahead 5-1.
The Cardinals continued to add pressure with another run in the seventh. Lebron lined a single and advanced to second on a Saez groundout. Lebron advanced to third base and scored on two consecutive wild pitches for the sixth Cardinals run.
The DSL Cardinals broke the game open with a three-run eighth. Strop, Dos Santos and Yaxson Lucena singled to load the bags. Lebron ripped a double to plate Strop and Dos Santos for an 8-1 Cardinals lead, with Lucena to third. Lucena came home on a Saez sacrifice fly to stretch the lead to 9-1.
The Cardinals recorded five hits with runners in scoring position in the win.
The DSL Cardinals scored nine runs on 12 hits. Lebron was 2-for-3, including a double, plus two walks, two runs scored, and two RBI. Saez was 2-for-4 with a triple, a run scored and two RBI. Dos Santos walked, singled twice, scored a run, and drove in a run. Portolatin walked, hit two singles, scored a run, and drove in a run. Strop was 3-for-6 with a double and two runs scored.
The Cardinals were active on the basepaths with seven steals. Dos Santos stole two bags to increase his season total to 13. Portolatin swiped two bases for 23 steals on the year. Lebron stole his 12th. Lucena snagged his fourth. Brayan Amoroso stole his first base of the year, the second of his career.
On defense, Amoroso threw a runner out at first base from right field. The Cardinals turned two double plays.
The DSL Cardinals are 29-26 on the season. They reside in third place in the DSL Southeast Division. The final game of their 2025 season is on Tuesday, a road contest with DSL Colorado.
