The St. Louis Cardinals minor league system was 0-1 on Monday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, DSL RH Daniel Gómez, pitched five innings of one-run baseball with four strikeouts. Other standouts include Juan Santillán, Jhon Franganten and Diego Conseción.

Memphis Redbirds (off day)
The Triple-A Memphis Redbirds were off Monday, as they traveled to Durham Bulls Athletic Park in Durham, North Carolina, for a six-game set starting Tuesday.
The Redbirds enter the week after a series split with the Nashville Sounds at home.
Outfielder Joshua Báez has put together a dominant offensive season in Triple-A. The 22-year-old leads the International League in home runs (33) and RBI (87) while ranking second on the team in steals (18). Báez leads the team in hits at 100. Leo Bernal has also put together a solid season with the Redbirds. The catcher is hitting .282 on 91 hits including 14 home runs with 68 RBI.
On the mound, Quinn Mathews has totaled the most strikeouts at 115 across 95 innings with a strong 3.32 ERA to anchor the starting rotation.
Memphis is 16-23 in the second half and 63-51 overall. They reside in eighth place in the International League West Division.

Springfield Cardinals (off day)
The Double-A Springfield Cardinals were off Monday, as they headed home to Route 66 Stadium for a six-game series with the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, starting Tuesday.
The Cardinals will look to gain momentum after a 4-2 series loss to the San Antonio Missions.
Rainiel Rodriguez’s bat has been scorching hot in recent games as his batting average has soared to a team-best .293. The catcher has hit 14 home runs among 72 hits across 62 Double-A games. Rodriguez was listed as the top prospect in the Cardinals organization in Baseball America’s updated rankings, with four other Springfield Cardinals also making the list.

Jesús Báez has swung a hot bat in Double-A, hitting .276 with 15 home runs to lead the team in long balls and 37 RBI in 34 games. Won-Bin Cho is hitting .291 with 11 home runs and 26 RBI in his first 35 games of Double-A action.
On the mound, Braden Davis leads pitchers with 112 strikeouts in a team-high 88 ⅓ innings. Liam Doyle has also showcased the strikeout pitch with 100 Ks across 76 innings.
Springfield is 24-15 in the second half and 55-52 overall. They hold a two-game lead in the Texas League North Division.

Peoria Chiefs (off day)
The High-A Peoria Chiefs were off Monday, as they prepared for a six-game series with the Beloit Sky Carp at Dozer Park, starting Tuesday.
Peoria enters the week aiming to get back on track after a 2-4 series loss to Quad Cities at home.
On offense, Jalin Flores leads the Chiefs with 73 RBI and has also hit 15 home runs, the most among players currently on the roster. Flores also holds the team lead in hits (92). Josh Kross has showcased his power with 13 home runs and 38 RBI on the season.
On the mound, Jacob Odle struck out 62 hitters in 45 innings over his first 11 starts with the Chiefs.
Peoria is 21-20 in the second half and 53-54 overall. They are in second place in the Midwest League West Division, 3.5 games behind first place.

Palm Beach Cardinals (off day)
The Low-A Palm Beach Cardinals were off Monday as they traveled to Jackie Robinson Ballpark in Daytona Beach, Florida, for a seven-game series with the Daytona Tortugas, starting with a doubleheader on Tuesday.
The Cardinals enter the week following a 4-2 series loss to Jupiter.
On offense, Ryan Mitchell has drawn the most walks on the team at 87 with 68 hits, 10 home runs, and 41 RBI across 87 games. Sebastian Dos Santos has hit four home runs and driven in 17 runs in his first Low-A action. Miguel Hernández has hit .313 with a home run and three RBI while also drawing nine walks in his first nine games with Palm Beach.
On the mound, left-hander Cade Crossland has thrown a team-high 70 innings across 19 appearances and 18 starts, striking out a team-best 106 in that time to earn a promotion to the Peoria Chiefs, where he’s made one start. Liam Best has fanned 47 hitters across 40 ⅔ innings and pitched to a sturdy 3.76 ERA in 29 relief appearances, the most appearances on the team.
Palm Beach is 21-20 in the second half and 54-53 overall. They reside in second place in the Florida State League East Division, five games behind Daytona.
Tuesday’s games: doubleheader at Daytona (CIN). Pitching probables have not yet been announced for either game. First pitch for game one is scheduled for 3:30 PM CT. Game two is slated to start at 5:35 PM CT.
DSL Cardinals 0, DSL NYY Yankees 2 (7 innings)
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals were shut out in seven innings by the DSL NYY Yankees in Monday’s home contest.
Daniel Gómez made his ninth start in his 10th appearance for the Cardinals. The right-hander pitched five innings and allowed one run on two hits, no walks, and four strikeouts, taking the tough loss.
Juan Santillán yielded a run with three strikeouts across two innings in relief of Gómez.
The Cardinals looked to strike early in the bottom of the first inning. Carlos Carrión drew a lead-off walk and swiped second base. Jhon Franganten reached on a fielder’s choice, with Carrión out at third base, and a strikeout ended the threat.
The DSL NYY Yankees took a 1-0 lead in the third inning.
The Cardinals looked to respond in the home half of the frame. Michael Cordero walked and moved to second base on a wild pitch. With two out, Sebastian Rojas struck out to leave Cordero in scoring position.
The Cardinals tried again to enter the run column in the fourth. Jhon Franganten lined a leadoff double. Lucas Takahashi walked with one out, but both were left on base.
The DSL NYY Yankees doubled the lead to 2-0 with a run in the seventh. The Cardinals were unable to respond.
The Cardinals scored no runs on just two hits. Franganten doubled for the team’s only extra-base hit. Diego Conseción singled. Cordero, Takahashi, Carrión and Misael Sánchez each drew a walk.
On the bases, Carrión stole the first bag of his career. Conseción was caught stealing second base.
On defense, third baseman Cordero made a throwing error.
The DSL Cardinals are 24-23 on the season. They will play a road contest with the DSL Rockies on Tuesday.
Tuesday’s game: at DSL Rockies. Pitching probables have not yet been announced. First pitch is scheduled for 10:00 AM CT.
