The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-3 on Saturday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, RHR Benjamin Arias, spun five one-hit scoreless innings in Palm Beach’s win. Other standouts include Mike Antico, Jeremy Rivas, Won-Bin Cho and Maikel Hernandez.

Memphis 4 at Indianapolis 5 (Game 1, seven innings)
The Memphis Redbirds played two at Indianapolis on Saturday, including the make-up of Wednesday’s rainout. Both contests were seven innings.
In Game 1, the Redbirds were edged by the Indians. Starter Adam Kloffenstein pitched 4 1/3 innings, gave up five runs on three hits, struck out one and walked five. The right hander took the loss, his first.
Kyle Leahy threw the final 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief.
Memphis opened with one run in the top of the first. Lars Nootbaar doubled and later came home on a single by Moisés Gómez. Indianapolis answered two runs in the home half of the first to take a 2-1 lead.
The Redbirds tied the game in the fourth. Gavin Collins doubled and was driven in by Arquímedes Gamboa’s single. Memphis regained the lead in the top of the fifth with two runs. Alfonso Rivas singled and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Gómez walked. Rivas went to third on a fly out and scored on a sac fly by Nick Dunn.
The Indians came right back again with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to go up 5-4.
Memphis scored four runs on six hits. Gamboa was 2-for-2 with a walk and an RBI. Gomez and Dunn each drove in a run.
In his rehab assignment, left fielder Nootbaar led off and went 1-for-3 with a walk and strikeout. He did not play in Game 2 and is 2-for-14 (.143) to date with Memphis.
On the base paths, Mike Antico stole his fourth base of the season. In the field, Gamboa made a throwing error.
Memphis 5 at Indianapolis 7 (Game 2, seven innings)
The Redbirds fell to the Indians in the second game of twin bill on Saturday. Starter Gordon Graceffo pitched 2 2/3 innings, gave up seven runs on eight hits, struck out four and walked one. Graceffo took the loss, his second of the season.
Connor Thomas tossed 2 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. Jacob Bosiokovic added a scoreless sixth.
Again, Memphis took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Mike Antico singled, stole second base, and advanced to third on a passed ball. Antico scored on a sac fly by Luken Baker.
Indianapolis scored two runs in the second to take the lead. Memphis responded with three runs in the top of the third to lead 4-2. Arquímedes Gamboa singled to right field, stole second base and advanced to third on a wild pitch. Antico walked. José Fermín singled to bring in Gamboa. Antico scored on a ground out by Thomas Saggese. Matt Koperniak singled to plate Fermín.
The Indians came right back with five runs in the bottom of the third to retake the lead 7-4. The Redbirds made it 7-5 in the fifth. Antico singled and stole second base. Fermín singled to advance Antico to third. Luken Baker grounded out to score Antico.
Fermín was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Antico was 2-for-3 with two walks and three runs scored. Baker had two RBI.
On the base paths, Antico and Fermín each stole two bases. Antico is 6-for-6 in steals this season. Gamboa and Koperniak swiped one bag apiece.
Memphis is 3-5 on the year.
Sunday’s game: at Indianapolis, RHP Sem Robberse (1-0, 1.80) vs. Cam Alldred LHP (0-1, 6.00) 12:35 CT.
The Double-A Cardinals prevailed by one run over the Travelers in Little Rock on Saturday. Starter Tekoah Roby pitched five innings, gave up four runs on five hits, struck out three and walked one.
Leonardo Taveras surrendered one unearned run in 1 2/3 innings of relief to earn the win. Ryan Shreve threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Matt Svanson tossed a scoreless ninth and earned his first save.
Springfield took a 2-0 lead in the second inning. Jimmy Crooks led off with a single and scored on a double by R.J. Yeager. Yeager was driven in on a single by Jeremy Rivas. The Cardinals made it 3-0 in the top of fifth. Rivas singled. Bryan Torres doubled. Rivas came home on a sac fly by Nathan Church.
Arkansas took the lead in the home fifth, scoring four runs to make it 4-3. In the seventh, the Cardinals added three runs to retake the lead, 6-4. Rivas walked and Torres singled. Church singled to plate Rivas. Church stole second base. With Church on second and Torres on third, Matt Lloyd reached on a fielder’s choice, and both Church and Torres scored on a throwing error.
The Travelers cut the lead to 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh, but the scoring ended there.
Rivas was 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored. Torres was 2-for-5. Crooks was 2-for-4. Church drove in two.
On the base paths, Torres and Church each stole a base. In the field, Chris Rotondo made a fielding error.
Springfield is 2-0 on the season.
Sunday’s game: at Arkansas, Edwin Nuñez RHP (0-0, 0.00) vs. Danny Wirchansky LHP (0-0, 0.00) 1:35 CT.
The High-A Chiefs fell to the Timber Rattlers in a 6-3 road loss on Saturday. Starter Hancel Rincon pitched 3 2/3 innings, gave up two runs on five hits, struck out one and walked four.
Tyler Bradt surrendered four runs in 1 1/3 innings of relief and took the loss. Roy Garcia threw two scoreless innings. Zane Mills tossed a scoreless eighth.
Wisconsin went up 2-0 in the second inning. The Chiefs tied the game in the fourth. Leonardo Bernal led off with a walk. Zach Levenson doubled to left. Michael Curialle followed with a double to center that scored Bernal and Levenson.
The Timber Rattlers retook the lead in the fifth with four runs to make it 6-2. Peoria cut the lead to 6-3 in the seventh. Carlos Linarez singled to center and later scored on a double to center by Won-Bin Cho.
The Chiefs scored three runs on six hits. Cho was 3-for-5 with an RBI. Curialle drove in two. Peoria was 2-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.
On the base paths, Cho stole his third base of the season.
Peoria is 1-1 on the season.
Sunday’s game: at Wisconsin, Pete Hansen LHP (0-0, 0.00) vs. Edwin Jimenez RHP (0-0, 0.00) 1:10 CT.
The Cardinals topped the Hammerheads at Roger Dean on Saturday by the score of 3-2. Starter Chen-Wei Lin pitched four innings, gave up two runs on three hits, struck out three and walked one.
Benjamin Arias tossed five scoreless innings of relief to earn his first win of the season. Arias allowed just one hit, walked none and fanned five.
Jupiter took a 2-0 lead in the second inning. The Beach Birds tied the game in the fourth. Miguel Villarroel singled to right field and Trey Paige drew a walk. A wild pitch advanced both runners. Maikel Hernandez singled to score Villarroel and Page.
Palm Beach took a 3-2 lead in the seventh. Brayden Jobert singled to right field and advanced to second on a wild pitch. Chase Davis doubled to right field to plate Jobert.
Davis was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Villarroel was 2-for-4. Hernandez drove in two.
Palm Beach is 2-0 on the season.
