The St. Louis Cardinals system was 0-2 on Tuesday as Memphis and Springfield were postponed. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Peoria CF Tai Peete, was 2-for-5 with three RBI. Other standouts include Josh Kross, Anyelo Encarnacíon, Jack Gurevitch and Jake Shelagowski.

Memphis vs. Indianapolis (postponed)
Tuesday’s Triple-A game was postponed due to rain in the area. The game will be played as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 29.
Memphis is 18-9 on the season.
Wednesday’s games: vs. Indianapolis, LHP Brycen Mautz (0-1, 2.95) vs. Antwone Kelly RHP (1-3, 7.00) 12:05 CT (game one); vs. Indianapolis, Bruce Zimmermann LHP (2-0, 3.96) vs. TBD (IND) (game two).
Springfield at NW Arkansas (postponed)
The Double-A game was postponed due to rain in the area. It will be played as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday, April 29.
Springfield is 7-14 on the season.
Wednesday’s games: at NW Arkansas, LHP Braden Davis (0-2, 6.88) vs. Felix Arronde (0-1, 8.31) 4:45 CT (game one); at NW Arkansas, LHP Mason Molina vs. TBD (game two).
The High-A Chiefs were pounded by the Great Lakes Loons in an 11-4 rout on Tuesday. The 18 hits allowed by Peoria pitchers is a season high.
Starter Tanner Franklin pitched 2 1/3 innings, gave up five runs on eight hits, walked one and struck out three. Franklin took the loss.
Christian Worley relieved Franklin and threw 2/3 of a scoreless inning. Jawilme Ramírez surrendered three runs, two earned, in two innings. Zack Showalter yielded two runs in the sixth. In his Chiefs debut, Patrick Galle threw a scoreless seventh. Gerardo Salas relinquished one run in the eighth.
The Loons took a 4-0 lead in the first. The Chiefs answered with two runs in the second to cut the lead to 4-2. Cade McGee walked. José Suárez and Anyelo Encarnacíon singled to load the bags. Tai Peete plated McGee and Suárez on a single.

Peoria added a run in the top of the third on a solo home run by Josh Kross to cut the lead to 4-3.

Great Lakes answered with a run in the home third to extend the lead to 5-3.
The Chiefs made it close again in the top of the fourth. Encarnacion doubled and scored on a single by Peete. The Loons again answered with two runs in the home fourth to increase the lead to 7-4.
Great Lakes added a run in the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the eighth, pulling away to an 11-4 win.
The Chiefs scored four runs on seven hits. Peete was 2-for-5 with three RBI. Encarnacíon was 2-for-2.
Jesús Báez stole his fourth base of the season. Peete swiped his third bag. Miguel Villarroel was picked off and caught stealing.
Jalin Flores made a throwing error. Peete had an outfield assist at home plate. Franklin picked a runner off second base.
Peoria is 10-11 on the season.
Wednesday’s game: at Great Lakes, Blake Aita RHP (0-1, 4.60) vs. Jakob Wright LHP (0-0, 5.59) 5:05 CT.
The Low-A Cardinals fell to the Clearwater Threshers by a 7-3 score at Roger Dean Stadium on Tuesday. Starter Cade Crossland pitched three innings, gave up seven runs on four hits, walked four and struck out four. Crossland took the loss.
Yadiel Batista relieved Crossland and threw a scoreless fourth. Jake Shelagowski hurled 3 2/3 hitless, scoreless innings with three walks and three strikeouts. In his first action since his return from Springfield, Nelfy Ynfante tossed the final 1 1/3 scoreless innings.
The Beach Birds took the lead in the first inning on a solo home run by Ryan Weingartner. The Threshers answered with two runs in the second.

Clearwater added a run in the third and four runs in the top of the fourth to extend the lead to 7-1.
Palm Beach made it 7-2 in the home fourth on a solo home run by Jack Gurevitch. In the eighth, the Cardinals tacked on one more run to shrink the lead to 7-3. Cameron Nickens singled. Ryan Mitchell walked. Nickens scored on a single by Gurevitch.

The offense scored three runs on five hits. Gurevitch was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Mitchell had an outfield assist at second base.
The Cardinals are 15-7 on the season.
