The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-1 on Tuesday with Peoria postponed. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Palm Beach’s Ty Van Dyke, pitched six scoreless, one-hit innings with four strikeouts. Other standouts include Hunter Dobbins, César Prieto, Chase Davis, Dakota Harris and Travis Honeyman.

The Triple-A Redbirds edged the Stripers by a 4-3 score at AutoZone Park on Tuesday.
Starter Hunter Dobbins, rehabbing for St. Louis, pitched five innings, gave up one run on three hits, walked one and fanned four to earn his third win.

Luis Gastelum relieved Dobbins and threw two scoreless innings. Scott Blewett surrendered two runs in the eighth. Chris Roycroft tossed a scoreless ninth.
Memphis went up 4-0 in the first inning. Bryan Torres walked and César Prieto followed with a two-run home run. Jimmy Crooks was hit by a pitch. Blaze Jordan doubled. Crooks scored on a wild pitch. Jordan came home on a sac fly by Leonardo Bernal.

Gwinnett scored one run in the fifth and two in the eighth to cut the lead to 4-3. The Redbirds bullpen held on for the win.
Memphis scored four runs on five hits. Prieto was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Dobbins picked a runner off first base.
Memphis is 12-4 on the season.
Wednesday’s game: vs. Gwinnett, Quinn Mathews LHP (0-1, 9.95) vs. Carlos Carrasco RHP (0-0, 2.40) 11:05 am CT.
The Cardinals absorbed a beating by the Wichita Wind Surge on Tuesday night. Starter Liam Doyle didn’t make it out of the first inning. The left hander gave up three runs on four hits in 2/3 of an inning, walking one and striking out one. Doyle suffered his second loss.
Randel Clemente relieved Doyle and surrendered five runs in 1 2/3 innings. Darlin Saladin yielded six runs in an inning. Dominic Picone relinquished three runs in 2 1/3 innings. Nelfy Ynfante allowed one run in 1 1/3 innings. Catcher Carlos Linarez pitched the final inning and was the only Cardinals pitcher to not be scored upon.
Wichita went up 3-0 in the first inning. The Wind Surge added four runs in the second, one in the third, and nine in the fourth to lead by two touchdowns and a field goal.
Springfield partially rallied for six runs in the sixth inning. Noah Mendlinger walked and Zach Levenson singled. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch. Travis Honeyman singled to plate Mendlinger and Levenson. Honeyman stole second base. Graysen Tarlow singled and stole second base. Chase Davis drove in Honeyman and Tarlow on a single. Dakota Harris followed with a two-run home run.

Wichita added a run in the seventh to make it 18-6.
The Cardinals scored six runs on nine hits. Davis and Harris were both 2-for-5 with two RBI. Honeyman was 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Honeyman stole two bases. Tarlow and Jon Jon Gazdar both stole a base.
Springfield is 4-6 on the season.
Wednesday’s game: at Wichita, Jurrangelo Cjintje SHP (1-0, 6.23) vs. Ryan Gallagher RHP (1-0, 1.93) 11:05 am CT.
Peoria at Wisconsin (postponed)
This game was postponed due to inclement weather. It will be played as part of a doubleheader on April 15.
Peoria is 3-6 on the season.

The Class-A Cardinals shut out the Hammerheads by a 3-0 score at Roger Dean Stadium on Tuesday. Starter Ty Van Dyke pitched six scoreless innings with one hit allowed, one walk and four strikeouts. Van Dyke earned his first win.
Alex Breckheimer relieved Van Dyke and threw two scoreless innings. Dylan Driessen tossed a scoreless ninth to earn his first save.
The game was scoreless until a fifth inning solo home run by Alex Birge gave Palm Beach a 1-0 lead.
The Beach Birds added two runs in the eighth. Jack Gurevitch singled, advanced to second and third on two wild pitches. Ryan Mitchell walked. Jonathan Mejía singled to plate Gurevitch. Brayden Smith walked to load the bases. Mitchell scored on a sac fly by Yordalin Peña.
The Cardinals scored three runs on five hits. The Birge home run and a double by Luis Pino were the only extra base hits.
Pino stole his second base of the season. Ryan Weingartner, Mejía and Mitchell were each caught stealing.
The Cardinals, winners of seven straight, are 8-2 on the season.
