The St. Louis Cardinals system was 1-3 on Tuesday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, 2B Masyn Winn, was 2-for-4 with two RBI in Memphis’ road win. Other system standouts include Gordon Graceffo, Moises Gomez and Matt Koperniak.

The Memphis Redbirds beat the Stripers in a 4-1 contest at Coolray Field on Tuesday. Starter Gordon Graceffo pitched four scoreless, hitless innings with two walks and six punchouts.
Andrew Suarez surrendered one run in 2 2/3 innings of relief. JoJo Romero threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings. Guillermo Zuniga tossed a scoreless ninth. Suarez earned the win, his first.
Memphis took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Kramer Robertson drew a walk. Masyn Winn singled, moving Robertson to third. Ivan Herrera plated Robertson on a ground out.
The score remained 1-0 until the sixth inning when Gwinnett tied it at 1-1. The Redbirds responded in the seventh with three runs on a bases loaded walk by Robertson and a two-run single from Winn.
Winn was 2-for-4 with two RBI. Moises Gomez was 3-for-4.
On the base paths, Winn stole his fourth base of the season. Errol Robinson was picked off first base.
Memphis is 5-5 on the season.
Wednesday’s game: at Gwinnett, Matthew Liberatore LHP (2-0, 0.00) vs. Domingo Robles LHP (0-1, 2.25) 6:05 CT.
The Springfield Cardinals were edged by the Travelers by a 6-5 score on Tuesday. Starter Kenny Hernandez pitched three innings, gave up four runs on five hits and walked four.
Ryan Shreve relieved and threw three scoreless innings. Dalton Roach followed with two scoreless innings. Ryan Loutos surrendered the walk off runs in the ninth and took the loss as well as a blown save.
Arkansas scored three runs in the first inning to take the lead. The Travelers then added a fourth run in the second.
The score remained 4-0 until Springfield mounted a comeback in the seventh. Mike Antico plated two runs on a double. Matt Koperniak then hit a two-run home run to tie the game at 4-4.
In the ninth, Koperniak plated a run on a single to give the Cardinals a 5-4 lead. In the home half of the ninth, Arkansas scored two to win the game on a walk off.
Koperniak went 3-for-5 with three RBI. L.J. Jones was 2-for-4. Antico drove in two.
On the base paths, Koperniak stole his first base of the season. In the field, Hernandez made a throwing error.
Springfield is 1-3 in 2023.
Wednesday’s game: at Arkansas, Brandon Komar RHP (0-0, 0.00) vs. Prelander Berroa RHP (0-0, 0.00) 11:05 am CT.
The Peoria Chiefs were defeated by the Timber Rattlers on Tuesday night at Fox Cities Stadium. Starter Trent Baker pitched four innings, gave up five runs on six hits, struck out two and walked one. Baker took the loss, his first of the season.
Dionys Rodriguez surrendered one run in 2 2/3 innings of relief. Chris Roycroft relinquished two runs in the final 1 1/3 innings.
Wisconsin went ahead 1-0 in the first inning, then added two runs in the second and two runs in the third to lead 5-0, all against Baker.
The Chiefs got on the board in the fourth, scoring three runs on a single by Thomas Francisco, a passed ball, and a fielding error.
The Timber Rattlers increased their lead with a run in the seventh and two runs in the eighth. Peoria did not answer.
Francisco was 3-for-4 with an RBI. Victor Scott II was 2-for-4. The offense was 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left nine men on base.
On the base paths, Scott II stole his third base of the season.
Peoria is still looking for their first win, at 0-4 on the season.
Wednesday’s game: at Wisconsin, Zane Mills RHP (0-0, 0.00) vs. Alexander Cornielle RHP (0-0, 0.00) 12-10 CT.
The Palm Beach Cardinals lost to the Tortugas in a 9-2 drubbing on Tuesday. Starter Hancel Rincon pitched 3 2/3 innings, gave up four runs on five hits, struck out two and walked two. Rincon took the loss, his first of the season.
The bullpen couldn’t stem the scoring tide. Tanner Jacobson surrendered two runs in 2 1/3 innings. Angel Cuenca allowed two runs in the seventh. John Lynch pitched the eighth and relinquished one run.
The Beach Birds scored first with one run in the top of the third inning. Lizandro Espinoza drew a walk then stole second base. Espinoza advanced to third on a ground out by Darlin Moquete and scored on a passed ball.
Daytona put up three runs in the bottom of the third to take a 3-1 lead. Palm Beach scored one run in the top of the fourth to decrease the lead to 3-2 on a double by Alex ladisernia.
The Tortugas answered with one run in the bottom of the fourth, the added two more runs in the fifth. Daytona scored twice more with two runs in the seventh and one more in the eighth.
The Cardinals offense scored two runs on just three hits. No Beach Bird had more than one hit. The double by ladisernia was the only extra base hit. The offense was 1-for-9 with runners in scoring position and left eight men on base.
On the base paths, Espinoza and Won-Bin Cho each stole their third base of the season.
Second baseman Moquete made a fielding error.
Palm Beach is 1-3 on the season.
Wednesday’s game: at Daytona, RHP Joseph King (professional debut) vs. TBA 5:35 CT.
