The Scottsdale Scorpions defeated the Salt River Rafters 5-4 on Wednesday. Jeremy Rivas started at shortstop, singled twice and scored a run. No other Cardinals appeared.

The Scorpions beat the Rafters 5-4 on Wednesday. Only one Cardinal played in the game and he was in the starting lineup.
Jeremy Rivas started at shortstop and hit eighth. The 20-year-old went 2-for-4 with two singles. The right-handed hitter singled to right field in the second inning but was stranded.
Rivas popped out to the catcher in the fourth. The Cardinal Nation’s 47th-ranked prospect hit an infield single to the shortstop to begin the seventh and scored on a grand slam by teammate Sonny DiChiara from the Angels organization.
In the eighth, Rivas grounded out to first base.
Scottsdale is 2-0-1 in the AFL season.
