The Glendale Desert Dogs were routed by the Peoria Javelinas on Saturday.

Three St. Louis Cardinals prospects participated in the game. Travis Honeyman batted fifth and manned center field. Graysen Tarlow started at catcher and hit eighth. Tyler Bradt pitched in relief.

Travis Honeyman

Honeyman went 0-for-4 in his first game back after a hit by pitch to the knee suffered on the 16th. He came to the plate with runners at first and second base with one out in the home first and grounded into a forceout, beating the throw to first base to avoid the double play. He did not score.

Honeyman led off the fourth inning and struck out swinging. The outfielder flied out in the sixth and lined out to center field in the eighth to lower his AFL average to .100.

Graysen Tarlow

Tarlow was 1-for-4 in the contest. The right-handed hitter grounded out to third base in his first at-bat in the second inning. He led off the bottom of the fifth with a single to left field, though he was retired on a double play ball from the following hitter. Tarlow lined out to end the seventh and flied out in the ninth. The catcher is hitting .200 in the AFL.

Tyler Bradt

Bradt took the mound in the top of the seventh inning. He issued a four-pitch walk to his first batter but rebounded with a strikeout on a 97-mph fastball to his next hitter. The right-hander induced a groundball on a 2-0 count for a double play to secure a scoreless seventh inning. Bradt threw one scoreless frame on no hits, one walk, and one strikeout. He threw 12 pitches, just four for strikes while lowering his AFL ERA to 8.10.

No other Cardinals saw action in Saturday’s game.

Glendale is 3-11 on the season and will play a home contest with the Salt River Rafters on Sunday.

Sunday’s game: vs. Salt River Rafters. LHP Jakob Wright (0-1, 19.29) vs. RHP Luis Perales (0-0, 6.75) 7:00 PM CT.
