The Scottsdale Scorpions fell to the Mesa Solar Sox on Tuesday. Two Cardinals saw action. TCN Player of the Day Victor Scott singled, walked and scored. Starter Tekoah Roby allowed four runs, three earned, in 3 2/3 innings and took the loss.

Scottsdale Scorpions 2 at Mesa Solar Sox 5
Two St. Louis Cardinals saw action in Scottsdale’s Tuesday evening loss at Mesa.
Center fielder Victor Scott was the leadoff batter. He was 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored.
In Scott’s first at bat, he grounded out to second base. In the third, Scott singled to right field and moved up on a wild pitch but was stranded. The center fielder popped out to third in the fifth inning, walked in the seventh and eventually scored, and flied out to right in the ninth.
Tekoah Roby opened on the mound for Scottsdale and had his second rough outing in three starts. He threw 3 2/3 innings, gave up four runs, three earned, on four hits, struck out three and walked two.
Roby gave up a solo home run in the first inning. He had a 1-2-3 second. In the third, the right-hander yielded a triple, a home run, and a single. In his final inning, Roby secured two outs but came out for a reliever after issuing a walk. With the loss, The Cardinal Nation’s number 6 prospect is 1-2 with a 6.97 ERA in the AFL.
Scottsdale is 11-8 on the season. The Scorpions are tied with the Surprise Saguaros for first place.
