In Wednesday AFL action, the Glendale Desert Dogs lost to the Peoria Javelinas. Cardinals reliever D. J. Carpenter threw a scoreless inning with one strikeout. Yet to allow an AFL run, Chen-Wei Lin will make his third start on Thursday.

Glendale Desert Dogs 6 at Peoria Javelinas 10
The Desert Dogs fell to the Javelinas in Peoria by the score of 10-6 on Wednesday. D.J. Carpenter was the only Cardinal who saw action. Carpenter pitched the final inning.
Carpenter entered in the eighth inning and threw a 1-2-3 frame including one strikeout. Carpenter induced a fly out to left field from the first batter. The second hitter struck out on a foul tip. The final hitter also flied out to left. 11 of his 18 pitches went for strikes.
None of other seven AFL Cardinals played on Wednesday.
The Desert Dogs are 3-9 on the season.
Thursday’s game: at Salt River Rafters, Chen-Wei Lin RHP (2-0, 0.00) vs. Jojo Ingrassia (0-0, 10.38) 3:30 CT.
