Cardinals Arizona Fall League Notebook – October 12, 2024

The Glendale Desert Dogs defeated the Scottsdale Scorpions by a 6-1 score on Friday. Two Cardinals participated. Nathan Church started in center field and singled in four at-bats. Ixan Henderson threw three one-run innings.

The Desert Dogs were the winners over the Scorpions in Friday’s AFL contest. Nathan Church was the only Cardinal to start.

Church was in center field and hit eighth in the lineup.  He went 1-for-4 with a single in his first plate appearance in the second inning. Church was left stranded.

In the fourth, Church grounded out to the second baseman. He popped out to third in the sixth and struck out looking in the eighth.

Ixan Henderson

Ixan Henderson entered in long relief and pitched the third, fourth and fifth innings. The High-A left-hander allowed one run on two hits and a walk and fanned three. 24 of his 41 pitches went for strikes. In his first AFL action, Henderson, The Cardinal Nation’s 26th-ranked prospect, received a hold.

Glendale is 3-1 in the first week of the AFL season.
