The Peoria Javelinas beat the Surprise Saguaros on Friday. Six Cardinals saw action in the game. They are CF Tai Peete, 1B Sammy Hernandez, 2B Cade McGee, RHP Tekoah Roby, RHP Frank Elissalt, and RHP Nate Dohm. Roby returned with three scoreless, hitless IP with one walk and six strikeouts.

Peoria Javelinas 10 at Surprise Saguaros 4
The Javelinas defeated the Saguaros on Friday by the score of 10-4. Six Cardinals saw action in the contest.
Tai Peete hit leadoff and played center field. Peete went 1-for-3 with a run scored. In the first inning, Peete drew a walk but was caught stealing second base. He singled to right field in the second but was left on base.
In the fourth, Peete struck out looking. The CF walked a second time in the sixth and scored the Javelinas’ fifth run on a fielder’s choice by fellow Cardinal Sammy Hernandez. In his final at-bat in the seventh, Peete struck out swinging.
Sammy Hernandez played 1B and hit third in the lineup. Hernandez was 0-for-5 with an RBI in the game. Hernandez popped out to the catcher in his first at-bat in the first inning. He struck out on a foul tip in the second inning.
In the fourth inning, Hernandez flew out to center field. He reached on a fielder’s choice in the sixth and drove in Cardinal teammate Tai Peete but was left stranded on base.
In the seventh, Hernandez lined out to third base.
Cade McGee hit seventh and played 2B. McGee went 0-for-2 with two runs scored, and he walked twice. He was hit by a pitch in the second inning and scored Peoria’s third run. He drew a walk in the third and was left stranded.
McGee lined out to right field in the fifth. He walked in the seventh and scored run number eight.
In the final inning, McGee ground out to second base.
Tekoah Roby started the game and pitched three scoreless, no-hit innings, allowing one walk and striking out six. He threw 40 pitches, 30 for strikes.

Elissalt threw 1 2/3 innings in relief of Roby. He gave up three runs on six hits, walked none, and struck out one. He entered the game in the fourth and gave up two doubles and a single. In the fifth, Elissalt gave up two singles and a triple. He also had two wild pitches. Elissalt threw 34 pitches, 24 for strikes.
Dohm pitched the eighth inning. He allowed no hits and no runs and struck out one. He threw 16 pitches, 11 for strikes.
No other Cardinals saw action.
Peoria is 3-3 in the AFL season.
