The Scottsdale Scorpions fell to the Salt River Rafters on Monday night. Three Cardinals played for the Scorpions. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Jeremy Rivas, had three singles, an RBI and a run scored. Victor Scott swiped three bags, but Andre Granillo struggled in relief. Tekoah Roby starts Tuesday.

Week 2 of the Arizona Fall League began with a loss as the Scottsdale Scorpions (3-3) were edged by the Salt River Rafters (3-4) at Salt River Fields on Monday night.
Center fielder Victor Scott led off and went 1-for-4 with a walk and scored in the eighth. TCN’s no. 11 prospect singled in the ninth inning. Scott stole three bags in the contest and leads the AFL with six. He also made a sliding catch in center field.

Jeremy Rivas continued his hot streak with three singles, an RBI and one run scored from the seventh spot of the lineup. The shortstop is slashing .474/.500/.526/1.026 through five AFL games this season. He was also caught stealing and picked off.
Out of the bullpen, Andre Granillo pitched one inning and was roughed for two runs. The right-hander yielded four hits and one strikeout.
Down 7-3, Scottsdale made a comeback in the final two innings but fell short by one run. The Scorpions finished 4-for-13 with runners in scoring position.
