The Saguaros dropped a laugher to the Scorpions on Saturday. Surprise starter and Cardinal Sandy Alcantara was the losing pitcher.  The right-hander gave up three runs on four hits, including a two run home run, in four innings pitched.  Alcantara struck out seven and walked two, hit a batter and threw a wild pitch. He suffered his second loss in the AFL, while his ERA grew to 5.73.

Pitching in relief were Cardinals Arturo Reyes and Josh Lucas.  Reyes pitched one inning following Alcantara, and surrendered one run on a hit and a walk. Reyes fanned a pair. Josh Lucas pitched a scoreless ninth with one hit allowed.

The Saguaros fell to 7-9 in the AFL West. They remain tied with the Glendale Desert Dogs, with both teams three games back of the Peoria Javelinas.
