Surprise Saguaros 11, Scottsdale Scorpions 1

The Saguaros walloped the Scorpions in Scottsdale on Saturday night, giving Surprise their second win of the early AFL season against three losses.
Three Cardinals position players saw action in the game, with Oscar Mercado and Andrew Knizner in the starting lineup, and Edmundo Sosa making a later appearance. Mercado had two plate appearances in the game and was hitless. The designated hitter and third-place hitter lined out and grounded out in the first and third innings, respectively, and was replaced by a pinch hitter in the fifth.

Knizner started at first base, and was 1-for-4. The cleanup hitter drove in two Surprise runs in the seventh on a ground ball single to right field. Sosa was a defensive replacement at shortstop in the sixth inning and had two plate appearances. The shortstop singled in both, with an infield single in the seventh and a line drive single to right field in the ninth.
No Cardinals pitchers saw action on Saturday.
