DSL offAnyone know why Nunez and Torres are not playing for Johnson City. Nunez has not appeared at all and Torres played in a couple of their first games and then disappeared.
Reyes and Oviedo came out of their respective games early. Reyes may be hurt, as I saw injury delay on Gameday.
My guess on Oviedo’s early departure was due to a high pitch count. It took him 50 pitches to get through two innings and he had already issued three walks.
Alex Reyes left the Memphis in the 2nd inning with an apparent arm injury. The trainer touched his shoulder when he came out to the mound but that doesn’t mean anything. Reyes was clearly visibly upset and knew something happened by the look on his face. He walked to the back of the mound and threw the ball up in the air while waiting on the trainer to come out of the dugout.
Watching replay of the pitch and injury Reyes hung his arm right after throwing the pitch. It didn’t look good.
On the 3-3 Sunday in the #stlcards system, Player of the Day Lane Thomas had three hits, including two HRs for Memphis, which lost Alex Reyes due to injury.
