Admission tickets for the January 19-21 event go on sale this Friday. Autograph tickets will follow on 12/10.
November 23, 2018 at 12:47 pm #74898I guess this is the thread where I should have put my reminder of Mo’s 2018 declaration that Gregerson could/would be our closer. Let’s hope Mo has a better WWU this year. Maybe this time he will be fielding questions about he landed our next big star.
November 25, 2018 at 11:04 am #75025For those who are well-heeled, the StL Baseball Writers Dinner is always on WWU Sunday night. Tickets are $250. and $150. each.
December 7, 2018 at 7:36 am #76373My annual look at which #stlcards are scheduled to sign for charity at Cardinals Care Winter Warm-Up next month. 2019 and prior year prices are included for comparison. (free) https://t.co/UT9H6uJcle pic.twitter.com/b3rvabwF99

ParticipantI sure hope Gary L. opens it up to questions about specific prospects this year, instead of “presenting”
most of the time.December 7, 2018 at 9:14 pm #76497I notice Dexter Fowler will be a no-show again. For a guy who hasn’t endeared himself to the fanbase he sure isn’t helping himself.
December 8, 2018 at 7:55 am #76512It is not limited to Fowler. Cecil and Gregerson are also among those not on the preliminary list. Same with Ozuna. It may not be a pleasant thought to stand there and answer the questions, but others face the music through thick and thin.
bccran, my expectation is that what you’ve seen is what you will get.

ParticipantCould be that Cecil, Fowler, and Gregerson have a pretty good idea that they won’t be Cardinals in 2019.
December 8, 2018 at 9:07 am #76531I would not read that into it. They did not attend WWU last year, either.
December 8, 2018 at 3:38 pm #76592Ozuna’s coming off surgery so I give him a pass. Sex though missed the first year under contract and said he’d attend the next year which he didn’t. This is the third year for him.

ParticipantAre you going, BHC?
December 12, 2018 at 8:56 pm #77272I haven’t decided yet as I’m not sure I’ll be able to get time off work.
In other news, however:

December 12, 2018 at 9:00 pm #77273I missed where Fowler said he wasn’t coming and why. Good you found another way to get his autograph, though… 😉
December 12, 2018 at 9:15 pm #77275I checked the status of autograph demand. Most of the freebies are gone. Most of the others are still available with the sellouts being Bader, Edmunds, Goldschmidt, Helsley, Hudson, Knizner, O’Neill, Schrock and Shannon. All except Goldy are at the lower end in price.
Along with Fowler, the notable names still missing are Cecil, Gregerson and Ozuna. Common thread seems that they are not fan favorites. As noted, Ozuna had minor shoulder surgery earlier this winter.
December 12, 2018 at 9:39 pm #77280Another point of view…
Can he play? Is he in shape and physically stronger? Will he rebound? Put up 2017 numbers? That’s my only concern about where he shows up. https://t.co/jBlbMnM7LK

December 12, 2018 at 10:01 pm #77286Would anyone of sane mind ever fork over one penny for a Dexter Fowler autograph? I think not.
December 16, 2018 at 11:47 am #77772UPDATE: Dexter Fowler will be at Winter Warmup. He has changed his travel plans for that weekend and will be in St. Louis, the Fowlers notified me this morning, said it was important to be present for #stlcards, as many fans wanted. Story will be updated. https://t.co/eY1TiGA2oY

December 16, 2018 at 11:51 am #77774Good for him.
January 4, 2019 at 4:27 pm #79294Since the initial article, there have been six additions (other than Fowler) to the list of autograph signers. I put them at the bottom.
Changes in Cardinals Winter Warm-Up Autograph Prices for 2019
January 6, 2019 at 9:04 am #79363At 25 clams a pop, one would imagine that you’d be able to hear a pin drop over at Shildt’s table. And hopefully Michael Wacha is fighting mad at a trio of rooks ( Flaherty, Reyes and Hicks ) commanding more loot for their sigs ( that’s “signatures” to the layman ) than for his. You wonder if there are ever any skirmishes at these events? Yeah I know it’s for charity, but one could see where tempers could flare. I know if I were one of the aforementioned Flaherty, Reyes or Hicks and my table was jammed full of autograph seekers and Wacha’s table was quiet, I would definitely be looking to catch eye contact with Wacha as often as possible to throw him wink after wink after wink.
January 8, 2019 at 4:25 pm #79522An interesting turn of events. Apparently, Goldschmidt has a contract with a memorabilia vendor that precludes him signing balls, bats, cards, etc. for anyone other than them. As a result, the Cardinals have prepared a special 8×10 card for WWU only that he will sign for those who bought his ticket. Or the team will give refunds to those who do not want this. Seems they are doing the best they can with a tough situation, though some on social media are angry. What is new?
January 13, 2019 at 8:08 am #79887Did you know your only chance to tour the Cardinals Clubhouse each year is Cardinals Care Winter Warm-Up weekend?

January 13, 2019 at 11:01 am #79890An intersection of baseball history and classic Mopars is a home run for me.
The Clemente Car, a fully restored 1972 Dodge Charger SE, which was presented to Roberto Clemente as the 1971 World Series MVP, will make its first appearance in St. Louis at the St. Louis Baseball Writers (BBWAA) Dinner! It is believed… https://t.co/BMeHpncXwD
