Mikolas hasn’t won a game against the Pirates this year (0-2). Now would be a great time to get the first one! Musgrave is a tough pitcher though.

BIG BIG GAME…..as every last one promises to be the rest of the way. Hard to believe that The Crew can tie for the divisional lead by night’s end, with us still visible in their rear view mirrors. Mikolas has been giving up a fistful of hits over his past few starts…..but that changes tonight. I’m calling this one 4-2 Birds with Wong getting flung the game ball at this one’s conclusion.

Bader caught gazing on a 3-2 Musgrove hook to open the Redbird 2nd. Francisco Pena raps a hard grounder but right in the vicinity of the 2nd baseman Kramer…over to 1st for out #2. Mikolas strikes out and this game has all the look of a pitchers duel…..2-0 Cards

Huh oh, Pugs and UConn are trapped in the Bermuda triangle of the cybersphere. We can live with a couple of lost posts, but let’s hope the Lizard King doesn’t lose the incredible rhythm he has now.
Carpenter flys out routinely to left to open the Cardinal 3rd. Jose looking to get back into the contentious NL batting average race….lines one into left that a racing Dickerson will motor in on and corral for out #2. Adams pops out in foul turf right near the seats to retire the Redbirds in order.
Ha Ha! That was a bummer losing that 1st frame as it was one of my better innings. It really kind of takes the starch out of you when you inexplicably lose an effort like that. For those who may not know why Mikolas is called the Lizard King as Euro just stated, it seems that years ago when he was playing in the Arizona Fall League, on a bet, he consumed an entire lizard in the dugout. It was said that he did not want to chew it for obvious reasons, so right down the hatch it went. Miles has said that every once in awhile he still feels that rascal racing around inside his belly.
How many times did Kelly catch Waino before?
How many times has Pena caught AW? Probably none unless it was Spring Training. For all we know Mikolas requested Pena or AW requested Kelly. We may never know.
