I assume that Norris is no longer considered the closer, effective immediately?
Granted Carpenter made an error, but Norris walked a batter and threw the wild pitch that cost dearly.

2-5 in the last 7 games, all against sub-.500 teams. We are in a bit of a funk where we lose close, and win big. The biggest culprits are the bullpen and the offense.
Need to win today, and get back that consistency we had in August.
The closer role is up for grabs. I believe we will see a few guys “audition” for the role, and hopefully someone steps up and takes the reigns. I still think Wainwright might be the secret weapon as closer, if he can throw strikes after the long layoff.
I guess the honeymoon is over for our new manager. Losing the last two games will get him on a pepto-bismol diet. Let’s see if he has the fortitude to pull this team out of this slide after that great run.
Martinez and his .676 OPS in his last 15 games and the even more amazing .286 in his last 7 still batting second.
These Tigers need to be absolutely pummeled into complete submission today! I won’t settle for a 3 run victory or a 5 or 7 run drubbing. If we beat them 5-0 today I’ll still be as angry as a rattlesnake! I want nothing less than a 9 run trouncing. NOTICE TO DETROIT….there will be no calling off of the dogs this afternoon…..NONE!!!
