stlcard25ParticipantI believe our own jager is due to be at all these games, and said he scored some good seats. Jager, how are we going to identify you during these games on tv?
September 7, 2018 at 9:03 am #68554
stlcard25ParticipantLooking like fairly good pitching matchups for the Cards all series here, with Fulmer having a down year. Nice to face a couple lefties. Hopefully the lineup looks like this:
1B Carpenter
3B Muñoz
DH Martinez
LF Ozuna
RF O’Neill
C Yadi
SS Dejong
CF Bader
2B WongSeptember 7, 2018 at 10:31 am #68559hey 25… I will be at the game tonight, had to sell my other 2 sets of tickets though… have a conference in Belgium that came up after i scored the seats early in the year. It was funny, i was trying to find all sorts of reasons to fly out Sunday night instead of Saturday with my work, but the price differences in flights were so big i couldnt get my work to oblige. nevertheless, i sold them online pretty quickly so someone will get to watch i hope, unless they were a ticket broker.
I will be at the game tonight, i think i will be in the view of the TV behind the plate, but i dont know for sure. Row 5 up on the Cardinals side of home plate.
As for getting them, i hit Stubhub really early in the year and got lucky
I will be wearing my away Wainwright jersey and probably a navy away hat. My girlfriend next to me will be wearing her 80’s home Mario Soto Reds jersey. I was really hoping that Waino woudl get the start tonight, let the stars align, but alas Monday will be for him.
I don’t go to a lot of Tigers games, but it is a nice ballpark, lots to do if you dont want to watch the game..maybe a little too much…a friend of mine i work with here in Detroit at the Art Museum helped with the installation and design of a lot of the Tigers history alcoves and setups around the park.
Anyways, I’m excited to see the Cards, only the 2nd game of the season in person for me unfortunately. Usually i go to a lot of Cincy games in Cincy with my g/f but we have been exceptionally busy this year so we havent went down as much.
As I will be in Belgium next week, i am already getting anxiety over how i am going to keep up daily with the Cards. I havent missed a live game in a long time, and never more than 1 at a time and always watched it on replay on mlb.tv
Anyways….let’s get a win boys!
Go Cards!
September 7, 2018 at 11:05 am #68570I’ll have to miss the game tonight since its Friday night and high school football night. The 3-0 Heritage Hills Patriots come to Jasper to face the 1-2 Wildcats. This is typically a big rival game. If Jasper is going to have a winning season this is one they sure could use. Might be playing in the rain since we have an 80% chance of rain tonight thanks, I believe, in part to Hurricane Gordon.
I assume McCarver is going to be in the booth with Dan tonight due to the implications with Detroit and the ’68 World Series?
And Jager, are you going to be anywhere near Bastogne when you get to Belgium? My dad fought with the 101st Airborne in WWII and was at Bastogne during the Battle of the Bulge.

Participant80’s home Mario Soto Reds jersey
You’ll have to explain this!
September 7, 2018 at 11:28 am #68584She’s from Cincy and grew up watching Soto pitch and loved him. Often gets overlooked and she likes to wear it remind people of him.
We watch both the Reds and Cardinals games every night together. Split screen.
I told her I should get a John Tudor of Andujar jersey 80’s jersey to match, though i have a hard time thinking of Cardinals pitchers that are overlooked because i remember the teams better. I almost bought a game used Omar Olivares jersey because it was so cheap thinking i was getting an amazing deal only to find out the guy who had it hadnt even heard of him. I balked at the deal in the end, but sometimes i kick myself for it.
Side note…Eric Davis is her all time favorite player. My first gift to her was a signed Eric Davis baseball card from when Eric Davis was on the Cardinals.
September 7, 2018 at 1:16 pm #68608Enjoy yourself in Brussels Jag. I worked there for six years.
Sounds like you’ve got a great gal. I’ve spent half a lifetime trying to explain baseball to my wife, starting with games at the AA San Antonio Missions, but to no avail.

stlcard25ParticipantGuess O’Neill and Kelly can’t buy a start, and Yadi must really be hurt.
Today's #STLCards lineup (9/7):
Carpenter 1B
Muñoz RF
J. Martínez DH
Ozuna LF
DeJong SS
Wisdom 3B
Bader CF
Wong 2B
Peña C
Gomber SP— St. Louis Cardinals (@Cardinals) September 7, 2018
September 7, 2018 at 3:04 pm #68615worried about Yadi…at least Wong is back in there though
September 7, 2018 at 3:32 pm #68618Seems like Yadi may be out longer than we want
Shildt said when asked if Molina would catch Waino on MOnday…”that would be super optimistic”Sounds like he is out at least a week..maybe the weekend series next week?
September 7, 2018 at 4:10 pm #68621PadsFS
ParticipantO’Neill must’ve got on Schlidt’s bad side.
September 7, 2018 at 4:38 pm #68622wagee12
ParticipantThat tends to happen when one strikes out more than he puts the ball in play.
September 7, 2018 at 5:18 pm #68623Amen Wagee.
Chris Welsh, the outstanding Reds announcer, said a couple of months ago during a Reds/Brewers game that….”I remember it wasn’t too long ago when it was embarrassing to strikeout”……
And amen to that too Mr. Welsh.
September 7, 2018 at 6:12 pm #68625
stlcard25ParticipantI think I see jager! And his gf too. Unfortunately, Marp Ks to start the game.
September 7, 2018 at 6:15 pm #68627
stlcard25ParticipantMuñoz Ks and Martinez grounds out for a quick 1-2-3.
September 7, 2018 at 6:23 pm #68628
stlcard25ParticipantGomber in trouble right off the bat…two singles and none out.
September 7, 2018 at 6:24 pm #68629
jj-cf-stlParticipantMunoz with a strong throw from RF keeps the DP in order.
September 7, 2018 at 6:25 pm #68630
stlcard25ParticipantThere’s your double play ball…no harm done.

September 7, 2018 at 6:29 pm #68633
jj-cf-stlParticipantLF’r just turned and watched the line drive HR by Ozuna.
September 7, 2018 at 6:30 pm #68634
stlcard25ParticipantYes, jager…you are front and center. Nearly as famous on TCN as the game itself! Keep on cheering the Birds to victory!
September 7, 2018 at 6:38 pm #68636
stlcard25ParticipantOuch. Bad news on Wacha on the broadcast. Scratched from his start and it was the oblique. “Reevaluated” which probably means done for the year. It’s been an awful year for injuries.
