Off-day coming Wednesday.
Would be nice if Martinez can go at least seven innings here. That, coupled with the off-day on Wednesday, the bullpen could be rested as we head out west to San Diego.

It will be interesting to see if Kelly gets the day time start after the night game. I hope he does. We need to play him everyday the next month to see what we really have.
RIght now tired of seeing Carp in the lineup, having him as #1 makes even less sense, he can’t hit anything right now….
Of course watch him go 3-3 with a HR today

Not a super strong group today, but Odorizzi isn’t an ace and Martinez is. The Cards *should* win this one but we will see.
I don’t understand the Cardinals reasoning for not optioning Gant. He just threw 90+ pitches last night. He won’t be available Today, off tomorrow and wouldn’t be available on Thursday. The soonest he’d be available would have been on Thursday on short rest. I don’t understand why they couldn’t option him for another bat until its time for Waino to make his start.
Jmart with the solo shot to give the Cards the lead. Cmart with a sloppy inning gives it right back. 1-1

Well CMart starts with the 4th with a single, walk and single and Twins take the 2-1 lead. One out and runners on 1B and 2B.
CMart limits the damage to the one run but the damage was done and based on this offense could be the game winning run.

There are a lot of people scratching their heads on this one. It makes no sense.
CMart is pretty wild today. Already 3 walks and a HBP and only 2 K’s.

He does lead the league in HBP and the last game he pitched he didn’t hit a guy. It was a 1-game streak.

This offense is just crap right now. Just awful!
I just realized Dexter Fowler has a -0.9 bWAR. While I don’t believe WAR is the be-all and end-all of Stats/Analytics, I do believe its a very good gauge on players. Someone explain to me why Dexter Fowler remains in the line-up day-in and day-out.

Why would Gant be starting in San Diego if Waino is healthy and coming off the DL? Joe Trezza even tweeted Waino is scheduled to start Saturday. So your comment and the Cardinals comment make no sense.
