1:15 p.m. RHP Luke Weaver (2-2, 5.17) vs. RHP Tyler Chatwood (2-3, 2.83) FOX Sports Midwest/KMOX
May 5, 2018 at 9:23 am #51010Any word on the lineup.
One would think this would be a good day to get Martinez a day off and have at Carp at 1st. Could even play Garcia but that would leave no lefthanded bat on the bench. So I would play Gyorko.
May 5, 2018 at 11:21 am #51013I know I am a broken record but play Jedd everyday!!
May 5, 2018 at 11:39 am #51014NJ315
ParticipantPham, Carp, Martinez, Ozuna, Molina, Fowler,DeJong, Wong,Weaver
May 5, 2018 at 12:17 pm #51016gscottar: Whenever you play your “play Jedd” broken record, count me in as seconding the motion.
May 5, 2018 at 1:11 pm #51017Matheny can be very stubborn with his lineup. Carp seems to be in a Allen Craig like death spiral but MM won’t budge and play Jedd at 3B on a regular basis. If I recall Mo had to intervene in the Craig situation.
May 5, 2018 at 1:41 pm #51019That was pathetic
May 5, 2018 at 1:51 pm #51020Weaver is in trouble in the 2nd – 3 straight singles
May 5, 2018 at 1:58 pm #51021Gonna be a long day if Weaver’s gonna try and nibble against Chatwood. That, plus he can’t miss a bat to save his life.
May 5, 2018 at 2:00 pm #51022
jj-cf-stlParticipantFine play Weavwer. Keep grinding young man.
May 5, 2018 at 2:15 pm #51023This game has gone about as bad as it could go for the Cards…in several aspects.
May 5, 2018 at 2:32 pm #51024Chatwood’s stuff must be very deceptive — we’ve got some awful swinging strikeouts.
May 5, 2018 at 2:49 pm #51025Cards now battling back, taking advantage of walks and cubs’ error. 4-2 in the 4th with a chance to add more, runners 1st and 3rd, 1 out, and Carp batting.
May 5, 2018 at 2:51 pm #51026
jj-cf-stlParticipantnew game!
Carpenter has the best numbers vs Chatwood on the roster, and he adds on them!May 5, 2018 at 2:52 pm #51027Some snazzy defense (NOT) by Schwarber in LF on Carp’s fly leads to two more redbird runs, now tied 4-4. Carp on 2nd for a double (or error, not sure which).

jj-cf-stlParticipantWe have a lefty in the pen now, and glad to have him back.
May 5, 2018 at 3:10 pm #51030Chatwood with a BB to start the 5th and gets yanked. Need to make him pay again for the free pass. Both starters will want to forget this one, although Weaver had very little luck fall his way.
May 5, 2018 at 3:15 pm #51031
jj-cf-stlParticipantThis season Weaver has allowed a .314 BAbip.
Today, .353, so yes, up some.May 5, 2018 at 3:18 pm #51032
jj-cf-stlParticipant3 wood
May 5, 2018 at 3:24 pm #51033wagee12
ParticipantWeaver is not ready for prime time and should be shipped out to Memphis. What is this now, three lousy starts in a row.
May 5, 2018 at 3:24 pm #51034Darnit, Sherriff gives up the lead to Baez on a HR on an 0-2 pitch — not a bad pitch though. A bullpen game against the cubs might not be our best bet, although better than the blowout it was looking to be.
May 5, 2018 at 3:39 pm #51035
jj-cf-stlParticipantit’s development of a young SP, and Weaver is worth the innings invested.
May 5, 2018 at 4:00 pm #51036Holland with a scoreless 8th, but now without a struggle. He stranded two. Cards have two more cracks at the cubs’ pen, down 6-4.
May 5, 2018 at 4:16 pm #51037
stlcard25ParticipantPham exited again? I’m not able to watch…what happened??
