Jedd did not make it through his second start, removed in favor of Greg Garcia. No word yet if a DL trip will be needed.
Per Cards. Jedd out with a right hamstring strain. #STLCards

April 2, 2018 at 3:38 pm #47194This is premature, but a roster reminder. Downside of DFAing Valera is that Sosa is only minors IF remaining on #stlcards 40-man. Could slide Munoz into playing mix and bring up Bader for another bat, though.

April 2, 2018 at 3:49 pm #47196Munoz is the modern day Oquendo. He can play anywhere.
April 2, 2018 at 4:21 pm #47201too bad for Jedd who looked good at the plate and in the field
i’d guess Bader is on his way right now

August 29, 2018 at 1:59 pm #67297The #STLCards have placed infielder Jedd Gyorko (left groin strain) on the 10-day disabled list and recalled outfielder Adolis García from Memphis (AAA). pic.twitter.com/c0bj8bYA2p

August 29, 2018 at 3:12 pm #67300This is it, Adolis……there is not an endless stream of these sort of opportunities …… gotta shine.
August 29, 2018 at 3:20 pm #67303August 29, 2018 at 3:36 pm #67306I was a little surprised Sosa didnt get the call instead of Garcia…still …welcome back Ad Garcia!
August 29, 2018 at 3:50 pm #67315Brian, if Carp gets some starts at 3B wouldn’t that mean Adams plays 1B, at least against RH’s?
August 29, 2018 at 4:02 pm #67322Yes, probably so. I did not get into the platoon possibilities. The main point I intended to make is that Carpenter could become the semi-regular third baseman again. (Though Munoz is playing there tonight – I am not a fan of Garcia starting, either.)
August 30, 2018 at 11:56 am #67460As Jedd can tell you, this one hurts. A big factor in the club’s surge was the steady infield with Wong and Gyorko in there every day. Now both are out, and the club will be back to some shuffling around. Shildt will have to manage a bit like Matheny in that regard, although Mike M did it even when everyone was healthy.
Hopefully both are back before mid-September, and we can again have the strong infield, solid up-the-middle defense, and the consistency that brings down the stretch.
