Jack Flaherty vs. Brett Graves. 1:05 p.m. first pitch. No TV, but KMOX/CRN and audio streaming.

CC, if my memory serves me correctly, the DH goes away two weeks before opening day.

No game discussion today. Playing small ball, the Cards got out to an early 3-0 lead, but the Marlins came back with two runs against Arturo Reyes in the 7th to tie, 4-4. That is how it ended. Flaherty had been cruising until giving up a two-run blast in the 4th. The Cards offense had as many steals as hits, five. They were 5-of-6 on the bases, including a delayed steal of home by Fowler.

The Cards are now 4-6-2 on the spring. The staff has given up 17 homers in 12 games, one off the Grapefruit League lead. On the positive side, their ERA is down from over six to 5.31, still second from last in Florida.

Well, the bullpen has done their part. Lots of 0.00 ERA’s.

Arturo was a guy a lot of people thought would have a break out year but just didn’t happen. 8 could see him getting cut I’m minors camp actually.

Artie seems fine depth for the Memphis rotation…i am not sure what he profiles like as pure reliever…he isnt going anywhere this year i dont think…we wouldnt cut him…reassigned maybe

Arturo Reyes was converted to relief early last season. Too many other better prospects for him to get a rotation spot. Seems probable that he will be back in the Memphis pen.
