What a difference after his first appearance. He looked fantastic in his first outing. But his reinvention of Ankiel light has to be concerning.

Hjerpe role in 2027 will depend on him improving his control. He’d be dynamite against left handed hitters, but I hope is more than a reliever.

Hjerpe’s control wasn’t super good back in 2023, the last he played for any length. It didn’t matter too much vs A ball hitters, but it is hard to see him trying to be a ML starter until he gets it dialed in, if he does. I wouldn’t mind seeing him work out of the pen in 2027.
