A west coast excursion, with a slight detour back here before heading west again. I will be in San Francisco this weekend and will miss the games in Denver. But have tickets to the games next Monday and Tuesday in the city by the bay. Will be my first visit to the Giants home park. Love the way it looks on TV so am excited to add it to the list of parks I have seen games in.

It is a beautiful park, BikeMike (at least on TV). I hope you enjoy it!

Looks like Bernal is about to make his big league debut at Doyer Stadium.

Taking a gander at the meteorological conditions out west for tonight’s shindig at Doyer Stadium.

All clear down in the far southwest so this one shouldn’t be an issue. The Doppler Radar also shows all clear in the midwest as well. However, as I’ve said many times, when it’s this hot and humid those little popup thunderstorms can occur at any minute. And it’s going to be 96 here in SW Indiana today.

The Cardinals may have a sliver of hope to win this 3 game series out in Dodgerland since Little Eddie’s bat seems to have cooled off a little the last few games…

I see we have a catcher who stands in from both sides. Have the under assistant west coast promo men touted him as the return of Simba?

Cannot wait to see Leonardo Abdiel Bernal’s maiden ML game. I wonder what the odds are on Mr. Bernal equaling or even surpassing the offensive explosion that Joshua Baez put on display in his first ML game in Wrigley recently? Speaking of odds, I bet only in the neighborhood of 30-35 games a year. I’m very selective and careful with these wagers. At the risk of coming across braggadocious, I don’t lose often. Tonight I’m putting up $3300 to win $3000 on the over (8.5) for the Cards-Dodgers game.

And what was for din-din one may ask? Egg salad sandwich, baked beans drenched in vinegar, Ruffles potato chips dipped into sour cream, red soda pop and for dessert it was 3 scrumptious Popeye’s apple cinnamon pies.

Maybe Baez and Bernal can get something going in the second.

It was the next 2 in the order, Bling…..Urias & Saggese with solo bombs. Cards up 2-0 heading to the 3rd.

I sure could go for a Dodger dog right about now……maybe 2. Heavy onion and yellow mustard on one and onion, mustard, kraut and relish on the other. How’s that for a start to a wonderful din-din.

Leonardo! Two run scorching liner makes it 5-0 Birds here in the 3rd…..and looking for more.

Urias draws the free pass to load em up and I don’t know how much longer they can go with Lauer. Saggese lofts a nice sac fly to left making it 6-0.

7-0 Cards heading to the bottom of the 3rd. Not sure if Church will be credited with a hit and rbi or if it’s an E-4? Tough call.

With a 7-0 score after two and a half, the over looks to be a lock unless Gibson and Drysdale suddenly appear and go to work.

Pitch count starting to mount for McGreevy(51) with 2 down and the bases juiced here in the Dodger 3rd.

Oh no……soft fly to short right that results in a collusion between Walker and The Ferminstor…..off Walker’s glove and that empties the bases…..7-3……that’s a shame as McGreevy with a nice pitch to Betts that ends in disaster…..well not exactly “disaster” as we’re still up 4.

Walker ramrods a 409 ft. laser into the center field seats with a mate aboard…..9-3 Good Guys. One more rbi and our All Star Derby Home Run King will be at the century mark for the first time in his career…..but certainly not the last……now Baez just misses a HR down the line in left…..inches foul.

Pugs, you might have gotten 500-1 odds on a bet of Saggese going deep twice.

Alexander Victor Vesia center stage as the Cardinals bat here in the top of the 5th in a 9-3 St. Louis ballgame. Our old pal Aroz has been sizzling red hot at the dish, as he whacked another long one (22nd) in Seattle’s victory tonight and Paul Skenes continues to pitch just like your average Joe, as he surrendered 5 earned runs in his 4 2/3 innings of labor in Pittsburgh’s 13-12 triumph over Frisco……oh boy oh boy Saggese just went yard for the 2nd time tonight…..10-3 Birds and we are fastly approaching “call off the dogs time” as make no bones about it…..we’re embarrassing these guys in front of their home folk.

Those odds sound about right, but there’s only two people on this planet that I know of who would have the insight and cajones to lay down that kind of a wager…….and their names are Bobby Reed and Jnevel.

Nah . . . Not me. I just bet that McGreevey would come out wearing number 36 tonight. And sure enough, I was right.

Betts doubles in a run with 2 outs and McGreevy is approaching 90 pitches here in the 5th. Wouldn’t that be a crying shame if he couldn’t finish this frame and not get the “W”. But he does as he induces Muncy to routinely fly out to Church in center to retire the side with minimal damage…..10-4 .
