I think it will be.
Likely an asset dump incoming; hopefully Bloom gets a good future MLB player back for each one traded.
We won’t get a good return for anyone we trade.
Then whomever we do get we will have to wait another 2-3 years for them to develop.
And in the meantime we will be like the Pirates and Reds have been for years – last place material.
We’ve got enough support players now. All we need is a big bat in the lineup and a frontline starter. And the only way those are going to get here is free agency. And for the record, I never considered Wilson Contreras a big bat in the lineup.
I expect may to bring us a decent prospect. Hes pitched pretty well. If he doesnt,i wouldnt trade him.
Despite his team finally sinking to a game below sea level, I expect that teams around the league are lining up to procure the services of the Redbird manager. He’s a white hot commodity at the moment and I expect him to ditch StL. before too very long…With his unmatched baseball managerial instincts he’ll probably end up on the top step of the Yankee or Dodger dugout or, at the very least, nudge Skippy out of the picture down in Arlington…
Weather wise all looks clear in the midwest tonight. Which means the Cubs will be in prime position to win another one at Busch.
Me and Whitey Herdog will be on the couch for the first 2-3 innings of the Indians and Reds from Riverfront Stadium.
Later tonight we will tune in to the Seattle Mariners and the Los Angeles Doyers from Doyer Stadium. Boy, the Doyers sure blew one last night.
Seems like one year recently we were loaded with lefty starters and had 2-3 more in the pen.

It is well known that the easiest way to achieve success is to define success so as to encompass whatever it is you can do. If they can’t hit for average, stop using BA as a defining measure. Genius.
So you think that other metrics have surpassed BA because of lower player BAs? That seems quite the stretch.
They only have one lefty because Romero is injured and they jettisoned what’s his name a couple times. Naughton got hurt and I think they wanted him up at some point. It’s been my main complaint all season.
We’ll get one back soon enough. Liberatore will be banished after his next crummy start.
And Blaze pops out with the bases loaded and two outs to end the 6th.

What really hurt was Winn swinging like a maniac when they had runners at the corners and only one out. Of course he struck out instead of just trying to put the ball in play.
