Anybody remember a few years ago when that gal directly behind home plate flashed Lance Lynn as he was about to deliver the pitch?

The lovely young lady was trying to OneUp your Front Row Amy, Rat. Just for the record, Lance didn’t bite, as he threw a high hard one that just caught the upper zone for a strike. If Front Row Amy had been the one doing the flashing, who knows where Lance’s pitch might have ended up?

If she’d have flashed a pair of Bavarian Bismark doughnuts Lance wouldn’t have stood a chance…

    From Google:

Reports of a female fan flashing Lance Lynn during a St. Louis Cardinals game on August 27, 2018, appear to be a rumor or misunderstanding as the available information doesn’t corroborate this event. While Lynn was with the Cardinals during the 2018 season, he was traded to the New York Yankees in July of that year, according to NJ.com. He made his debut with the Yankees on August 1, 2018, as a relief pitcher. Lynn was pitching well in his new role as a long reliever, which wasn’t expected to last long.

I wonder if staff or players from Jupiter will take in any of the games. I don’t know if retirees from St. Louis who live in the area take in games anymore.

Whenever I think of LL and his penchant for Bavarian Bismarks I’m reminded of the line, “You know, David, if it had been a cheeseburger you wouldn’t have dropped it”…Haha! Whitey with some words of wisdom to his young pitcher, Dave ‘LaHeap’ LaPoint after the portly LH’er’s E-1 opened the floodgates for the Brewers in game 4 of the ’82 WS and allowed them to come back and win that game after trailing 5-1 in the 7th. I clearly recall watching that game and how excruciating it was to see the Cardinals let that 4 run 7th inning lead slip away and lose in a 7-5 final.

It doesn’t at all look like the Marlins will reach the 1M mark in attendance this season. It ought to be pretty quiet at Marlin’s Park for this less than thrilling series between two mundane teams so maybe the Cardinal manager along with a couple of the vets who really don’t want to be there will be able to work in a nap in the visitor’s dugout without being disturbed by any unwanted noise. As long as they’re not roused by that bright and flashy monstrosity in CF that looks like it belongs atop Liberace’s piano, they should be able to catch a few nice Z’s.

    The Marlins won’t hit 1,000,000 attendance? Wow…

Big five game series at Wrigley Field between the Cubs and Brewers commences today. So far the Brewers are crushing the Cubs 7-0 in the eighth inning of Game 1.

I’d have to guess that the Brewers would like nothing more than to pummel the Cubs to a degree that they’d fall out of contention for a WC. I’d pay to see it happen.

And 7-0 Brewers is your happy final. They now lead the Cubs by nine (9) games heading into tonight’s final game of their twin bill.

Yeah, the Crew could pretty much sew up the division by taking 4 of these 5 games against their rivals 90 miles away. Meanwhile our club will have to be content with playing out the string and looking at who might help next year, and who will be working elsewhere (Mikolas).

Marlins give the Cardinals an extra out here in the first inning but Winn can’t take advantage.

Liberatore is not missing too many bats. 3 batters and 3 hard hit balls. Already 1-0 Marlins.

If Walker is a consistent hitter, its not for positive results.

I’ll always remember the ’03 post-season as one of the most entertaining to watch that didn’t involve my favorite team. I clearly recall jumping on the bandwagon with that Marlins team led by old “Trader Jack” and complimented with a young Miggy, Dontrelle and Beckett, along with the seasoned veterans, Pudge, Lowell and Derrick Lee. And what Redbird fan wasn’t absolutely elated with the NLCS game 6 Bartman fiasco at Wrigley? I know I was smiling for weeks after seeing the Cubs blow that 3-1 game lead and leave our dear friend, Dusty so sorrowful and sad…Haha! At any rate, it was a lot of fun to watch and I always think of that ’03 post-season whenever the Redbirds travel to Miami. Incidentally, only a shade over 1.3M fans showed up to see that WS championship Marlins team in ’03.

A quiet game, at least on Gamecast. I wonder if it echo’s in there.

JJ – Walker has indeed just been consistently bad. One good month.

Well. I’d give that lady a high hard one if you catch me drift. Well, anyway, the Redbirds were once a proud franchise I cherished but now a complete dumpster fire. It’s sad I wasted so much time on this franchise.
