There are some small cells a little SW of downtown St. Louis but according to the Doppler Radar all is clear for this one tonight.

And the Reds just acquired Ke’Bryan Hayes from the Pirates for lefty reliever Taylor Rogers and a minor league prospect.

Din-din today was a trip to the Amish restaurant, the Gasthof.

    2 days rest for Winn.

Miles needs to watch Sanchez but he pretty much needs to watch everyone. Get the pen up and a tad loose in the 4th. Getting 5 ip 3 ER is the goal. Lol

The over/under on runs scored by the Redbirds tonight is 1.5.

You taking the over or under?

For Miles this season, the difference has been about who catches him.
    50 IP, 6.79 ERA
    Vs
    40 IP, 3.12 ERA

Four starts ago Pages/Mikolas posted 6 IP, 8 ER vs the Cubs. Over his next three starts Pozo/Mikolas have posted 14.2 IP, 5 ER, 3.07 ERA, which lines up very well the 40 IP above.

Though it was just two starts together, Mikolas has basically the same ERA this season and lower hitter slash stats across the board with Herrera catching compared to Pozo. As noted, Pages’ numbers are much higher.

Two starts ago Pozo/Mikolas went 4 IP, 5 ER allowed. He can get rocked with Pozo. Overall, I think which catcher matters for Miles.

You’re usually spot on, Rat, but this time you’ve veered a bit too far off 1st base. Cards will tally at least 7 runs tonight. Din-din for me tonight was a trip on over to Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse for a medium rare ribeye, baked potato, broccoli drenched in butter and then a trip on over to the Popeye’s drive thru lane to grab 3 scrumptious apple cinnamon pies……which I’m just now getting ready to tear into. Maybe I’ll put 3 scoops of Breyers vanilla bean ice cream on top.

Any suspicious absences from the lineup?

No Hampson and no Manny in tonight’s lineup.

The manner in which Mikolas snapped his head around to watch that Sanchez HR could quite possibly place Miles in a neck brace.

Lol, at least it wasn’t at him.

Lefty bats? Noot is out, Gorman too, but Donny breaks an 0-19. Scott is limping thru July. On you again Burly!

That hit by Walker makes me think the game might be slowing down some for him.

Gorman homered tonight . . . Although it was for Springfield. He and Noot both in that game.

Miles has the bottom of the order due up. Let him start the inning.

Some day the Cardinals will score another run. It might not be today. And definitely not tomorrow. Maybe not even this week. But someday it will happen. Mark my words.

Without our lefty bats producing, it’s slim pickens’.

No runs so far and it’s the bottom of the 8th.

Anybody know why they don’t have any runs?

And the Reds just got three in the last of the 8th with two outs to take a 5-2 lead on the Doyers. Two flyballs near the foul wall in LF and one to CF were missed by the Doyers. Pages missed the foul one down the LF line, a play he could very well have made. Outman had to jump over the CF wall but it hit off his glove.

17 innings in a row without scoring a run now.

I wonder how that is happening?
