1:15 p.m.
RHP Sonny Gray (7-2, 3.84) vs. LHP Wade Miley (1-0, 6.75)
FanDuel // KMOX // WIJRJune 20, 2025 at 11:16 pm #285222Going to be hot in St. Louis for this one. Imagine how much worse it would be if they were still playing on astro turf.
June 21, 2025 at 11:37 am #285235Wade Allen Miley is out for this one…..enter Brent Michael Suter…..ages 38 & 35 respectively. Sonny squared off with a monster in Milwaukee in his last start. It’s very early, but with that kid’s almost unbelievable stuff, the Brewers could have a better pitcher on their hands than “Pistol” Paul Skenes.
I was hoping for a more thorough weather report from Rat today, as he’s the only weather person that I totally put my faith in.
What’s for din-din one may ask? It’ll be a trip over to Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse for their prime rib(medium rare), mushrooms, asparagus spears and then for a just dessert, I’ll venture on over to the drive-thru lane at Popeye’s to snag myself 3 apple cinnamon pies. Go Birds!
June 21, 2025 at 11:50 am #285236Pugs,
The meteorological report in the metro St. Louis area today call for hot and humid conditions. No chance of rain unless it’s one of those spur of the moment storms that occur when it’s really hot and humid. Those are hard for me and Whitey Herdog to accurately predict.r/Esteemed Rat

jj-cf-stlParticipantI’m eating a bowl of homemade ice cream with chunks of fresh strawberry scattered on top. Made 1.5 gal yesterday to offset the heat wave! The grandkids claim it’s world famous!
June 21, 2025 at 1:16 pm #285240Nice and cozy out there for game time. If I’m on either top step, I’m keeping a close eye on these pitchers. Each and every delivery in this blistering heat is a labor intensive task.
June 21, 2025 at 1:22 pm #285241In regards to ice cream, I’ve been on a serious Edy’s binge for well over a month now. At $6.99 for considerably less than a half gallon, it’s beginning to be a form of addiction which is adversely affecting the financial stability of the 1TD household and I’m carefully considering some sort of outpatient program at a treatment center…This stuff is really getting beyond my control.
June 21, 2025 at 1:53 pm #285242Burleson’s now up to .315 and has overtaken Donovan for the team lead in BA. He also now places second on the team in the hits category with 68 to Donovan’s 83 base hits. And he’s generated those 68 hits in 60 fewer AB’s than has Donovan. In any case, he’s making our old friend Shady mighty proud…Haha!
Edit; Whoops…I just saw that I made a very, very, bad mistake. Herrera leads the team in BA at a .320 mark. Anyway, Rat should be proud that this team has so many .300 hitters…Haha!
June 21, 2025 at 2:04 pm #285243The box score claims the temperature is “92 and sunny.” The thermometer outside our kitchen window reads 96 and it’s in the shade. I’ll also add that it’s almost always at least a couple of degrees warmer downtown that it is at our house. At any rate, it’s nice and cozy in StL.
June 21, 2025 at 2:26 pm #285246Up to over 70 pitches and Gray’s now looking like he’s low on steam. I’d go get him.
June 21, 2025 at 2:30 pm #285247
jj-cf-stlParticipantThe good D shows up in a close game.
June 21, 2025 at 2:30 pm #285248He escapes the 5th to remain in line for the winning decision. That ought to be all for Mr. Gray.
June 21, 2025 at 2:44 pm #285249
jj-cf-stlParticipant3 batters, 3 walks, 3 outs.
Mmm mmm mmm odd inningJune 21, 2025 at 3:09 pm #285250Matz works a nice 6th, but can’t take the heat in the 7th.
June 21, 2025 at 3:11 pm #285251The Gorilla gets the final out in the visitor half of the 7th despite the Contreras oven mitt. Need some baserunners.
June 21, 2025 at 3:20 pm #285252
jj-cf-stlParticipantIt’s a good thing Rats hasn’t seen we have only two hits after 7 innings.
June 21, 2025 at 3:27 pm #285253Yeah, with all these .300 hitters you’d think they’d be churning out more hits than Motown.
June 21, 2025 at 3:28 pm #285254Yeah jj, like I keep saying we don’t have anybody that can hit.
We were gifted 3-4 runs last night. And now only 3 hits through 7 innings in this one.
This team can’t hit.
June 21, 2025 at 3:34 pm #285255Winn with the 2 on, 2 out chance.
June 21, 2025 at 3:35 pm #285256Runs it full.
June 21, 2025 at 3:37 pm #285257Cuts the lead to 2. Need a 2 out something good from Burleson…
June 21, 2025 at 3:38 pm #285258Whoa…Santillan got away with one on that first pitch to Burleson.
June 21, 2025 at 3:39 pm #285259Nice job by Burlseson to fight off that 1-2 to stay alive.
June 21, 2025 at 3:41 pm #285260And Burleson comes through and cuts in down to a sliver thin 1 run lead.
June 21, 2025 at 3:42 pm #285261C’mon, Contreras!
