I’ll be attending this game. Looking forward to watching a division matchup and I’m glad Sonny is on the mound for the game.

Bravo Cardinal in France! Rat surprises me, in that him being the prototypical baseball purist, I’d think he wouldn’t mind all baseball games being played under sunshine vs lights. I wouldn’t mind all day games. It certainly would be much more fan friendly than what baseball fans had to contend with 100 years ago. With all of the different modes of transportation, it’s much easier to get to the ballpark in this era. Heck if you own a Tesla, you don’t even need a human driver. And when the game finishes, no more time consuming and frustrating efforts trying to find your vehicle. Just summon your Tesla to come to you and it’ll be there to pick you up in style lickity-split. Also, fans taking in weekday day games 100 years ago had to either skip school or blow off going to work. Missing a days pay on top of the price of attending the game would be quite costly. But now days with so many workers being allowed to work from home, one needs only to employ their automatic mouse mover into action while they are enjoying a day at the ole’ ballpark and you actually get paid for taking in a game.

Wasn’t too long ago at all that there was no way and no how that a home game was going to be broadcast on television. And to the best of my recollection, only about 20 or so road games were ever televised, with the vast majority of those coming on the weekends. If you wanted to see the Cardinals play baseball, you hopped in the truck, headed downtown, parked and walked up to the ticket booth and bought a ticket. Which is exactly what we used to do. It was almost always a cheap seat ticket and we normally came armed with a newspaper, maybe some binocs and a radio and some store bought peanuts and Coca Colas…Win or lose we always enjoyed ourselves and had a lot of fun in those days. I guess that’s why we call them, “the good old days”…Haha!

I am usually fairly busy on Saturdays working around the yard and all, and might get out and ride the bike as well. But I enjoy listening to the KMOX broadcast while doing those things. Would be great to win this series and maybe gain a little confidence.

If I was the MLB boss, I would go back to a schedule that emphasizes division games. And I would go to a 154 game schedule, starting the season in early April rather than late March. Maybe go 12 divisional games per opponent, 6 games against non-divisional league foes, and fill in the remaining 46 games as inter-league.

Or you could go 15 divisional games and only 34 inter-league. But doing that your divisional games would be 7 home and 8 away per match-up, or vice versa. Not a big deal really.

This is probably the best hitters lineup we can make without Herrera. Maybe Baker at DH over Gorman. But I’m ok with giving Gorman regular at bats so no complaints. Walker and Burleson have been rough. I still want Walker to get regular at bats too but a few days off may help him refocus. His first 2 weeks he showed plate discipline. Since then, not so much.
