ParticipantHey Derek….. really? You sure do promote your favs.
July 5, 2017 at 10:40 am #26658I try to be objective as possible, but I was sure to highlight Ryan Helsley this month.
July 6, 2017 at 9:51 am #26755The Cardinals organization agreed with my selections – Arozarena and Mayers named Player and Pitcher of the Month for them.

ParticipantWell if that’s the case you really know your prospects! We’ll be waiting for an updated prospect ranking soon. I always respect your acumen despite my last comment. As witnessed in the pre-season poll here so many fans have so many opinions. There’s so may players exceeding expectations and some have been struggling…. and a few badly.

ParticipantSeveral of the “usual suspects” are having really good seasons. Good to see that Tewes and Mulford are getting some recognition. Make room for Summerville in the August selections, a very good 12th rounder.
August 3, 2017 at 9:27 pm #29524August 3, 2017 at 9:57 pm #29526While only 10.2 innings, Morales was unscored on in July. With tonights performance his ERA for the year is 0.57.
September 2, 2017 at 2:35 pm #32239Details behind why Breyvic Valera is The Cardinal Nation’s choice as the top system-wide hitter for the second consecutive month. Also lists of key system-wide offensive leaders last month.

ParticipantThis is hilarious. You’ve outdone yourself this time. Gomber has a kick-ass month with an GS avg of 72.
Santos had a very good month also… GS avg = 65.4. Gomber was totally consistent throughout the month, all of his starts were either very good or excellent (8/4 & 8/26). Now, if it hadn’t been for that superior month Gomber had Santos would have been a top candidate. That start he had on Aug. 14th was not the type of performance a POtM should have… 5.0inn 7H 6R 1BB 3K. The Dunedin team put up a 4 in the 3rd which included a 3 run HR. Again in the 6th they touched him up again for 2 runs and that frame included a balk and a wild pitch and it could have been worse if the final out occurred on a single that hit a base runner.Gomber had no such trouble throughout the month and his being selected the POtM was a no-brainer.
You constantly overlook certain players in order to promote your pets. It’s a scream. :O
September 4, 2017 at 11:23 am #32362I dont remember Brian ever even mentioning Santos before. If he is a Brian pet, he is a brand new one.
September 4, 2017 at 1:22 pm #32371I did not have a pet in that fight. 😉
September 4, 2017 at 5:28 pm #32382Let the man make his picks sheesh :p
Even if I agree with you…
Brian : pitchers parks vs. Hitters parks. Higher level. You take your guy I’ll take gomber 🙂 I can see the reasoning but eh.. gs, consistency, level and even the parks are screamingly in one direction on what is a basic tie numerically if you look at basic stats alone.
/shrugs… Not a big deal if you disagree regardless. In the immortal words of william devane (very good and often forgotten actor)…. “let them play”.
.
.
.Yes… The movie was not in the same league as good as the original. So what.
.
.
.… I said that not because I’m any more insane than usual… Partially just the lack of respect. Partially because I’ve got houston on the brain a bit due to recent news. Partially just wanted to be weird.
Maybe I am more insane than usual. Bah lol
September 5, 2017 at 1:57 pm #32422Disagreeing goes with the territory, and I accept the differing point of view, but delivering the message with anger and accusations is disappointing to say the least.
Valera and Gomber are the Cardinals Player and Pitcher of the Month for August.

ParticipantI’m just going to say that I love baseball, I love the Cardinals and I love following their prospects. Sure, sometimes I get disappointed from what I read…. but I don’t get angry. That would defeat the reason that I spend time on the game. Perhaps you were just reading anger into it. I said it was hilarious and a scream (something very funny back in the day)… not the yelling type scream. The little doodle at the end is someone lol. I expressed my point. In my mind the award was a slam-dunk for Gomber.
Oh, and don’t forget I respect your opinions and viewpoints…. which may increase the disappointment at times. Please never forget where this is coming from… your old bud 14.May 1, 2018 at 7:30 am #50643Back for another season of complete agreement and total adulation! 😉

May 2, 2018 at 9:59 am #50756Yeprez Player of the month? How can Tyler O
Neill not be player of the month? He still is only 22.Not 23 yet.Hitting great at 2 levels higher than Yeprez.Yeprez is doing very good but ONeill is doing it at the highest minor league level.May 3, 2018 at 3:05 pm #50844The organization announced its choices. I had to update my Pitcher of the Month article to even include Gomber, as in my assessment of the numbers, he was not even among the finalists.
