KeepComingBackParticipantBrian-Ive been searching for Springfields starting pitching schedule. I want to get down there on this next homestand.
July 19, 2024 at 8:04 am #260848Going into the break, none of the teams announced their pitching plans for after the break. I should have them this afternoon. Once I see who Springfield is starting this weekend, I will post it here.
July 19, 2024 at 9:08 am #260852
KeepComingBackParticipantThanks Brian.
July 19, 2024 at 12:28 pm #260859For Springfield this weekend: Mathews, Cornwell and Rajcic.
July 19, 2024 at 3:27 pm #260872
KeepComingBackParticipantIm not going to be able to get down there until next weekend. Would be great to see Tink and Matthews but i am exited about all the young pitching there. If I go Thursday night i will see most of them.
July 20, 2024 at 7:19 am #260915The #STLCards system was 1-3 on Friday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Palm Beach CF Chase Davis, was 2-for-5 with four RBI. Other standouts include Nick Dunn, Ivan Herrera, Sammy Hernandez and Ross Friedrick. https://t.co/NNGphgMcXb pic.twitter.com/oiVWvqJhfH

KeepComingBackParticipantIf we can’t score any runs post break, Herrera has to be brought back up, especially if the corner infielders continue to flounder. Ive decided to call them the corner infielders instead of their names, so as not to hurt anyones feelings. Anyway, this is a pennant race at the moment. If those corner infielders flounder, it’s ridiculous to have a good right handed bat available in Memphis
July 20, 2024 at 1:08 pm #260951He would have to be DH only since he can’t throw out runners. Who would you send down?
July 20, 2024 at 1:28 pm #260953
KeepComingBackParticipantYes I would DH him and move Burly to first if it’s the first baseman who doesnt hit. I think the 3rd baseman will hit enough along with his defense. But he needs to be moved down in the order. If the third baseman refuses to hit at all, play Donny at 3rd. EDIT I said I would dfa Crawford but you can’t do that since Tommy isnt coming back. No backup ss. By Carp.
July 20, 2024 at 2:58 pm #260987I see no evidence that Goldy or Arenado will be benched so you would have to play Burly in RF and Noot in CF, which weakens the OF defense some.
July 20, 2024 at 3:13 pm #260996
KeepComingBackParticipantYes GScott its just talk. I’m bored. If they wouldnt show Carp a seat on the bench when he was so horrid, or DeBong, they aren’t going to bench one of the corner infielders. Arenado did hit a hr today. Wasted though.
July 20, 2024 at 6:49 pm #261023There are three problems that limit what can be done to improve the lineup.
The first is that Carp and Crawford clog the bench with pretty useless players.
The second is our corner infielders do not produce like we need to get from those slots.
The third is the FO is not going to do anything about the first two.
July 20, 2024 at 6:57 pm #261028
KeepComingBackParticipantBling the third baseman has been picking up the pace the last 10 games. Keep your fingies crossed that continues.
July 20, 2024 at 7:29 pm #261031KCB, he has been able to slap out singles on and off throughout the year, and I agree he’s been slapping them out pretty good for a couple weeks. That’s not what he gets paid to do though.
July 20, 2024 at 8:12 pm #261038Fermin with a couple of hits tonight. Going in to today’s game he was hitting .130 with an OPS of .390 in his last 30 AAA games. Even with that he had an OPS of over 1.000 for the season
July 20, 2024 at 8:17 pm #261041
KeepComingBackParticipant.900 ops last 11 games Bling.
July 20, 2024 at 8:38 pm #261050Riley O’Brien pitching the ninth for Memphis tonight…. 4 pitches, 4 balls, 1 BB.
July 20, 2024 at 8:43 pm #261053O’Brien manages to survive his first outing since coming off the IL, and gets a save.
July 20, 2024 at 9:39 pm #261063I am not sure what you are getting at KCB. It is the 20th and he has 2 extra base hits all month. He’s put together singles and walks. From NA, that sucks. Its Siani on a hot streak.
July 21, 2024 at 7:01 am #261072The #STLCards system went 3-1 on Saturday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Memphis’ Ian Bedell, threw 7 2/3 one-run innings. Other standouts: Jose Fermin, Nathan Church, Chandler Redmond, the Springfield pen, Zach Levenson and Justin Guerrero. https://t.co/1n7VXvJhIv pic.twitter.com/EHe17vYPR8

July 22, 2024 at 7:22 am #261168The #stlcards system had an 0-for-4 Sunday, scoring just nine runs. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, LH Ixan Henderson, tossed five scoreless innings for Palm Beach. Other standouts: Ivan Herrera, Jacob Young, Jacob Buchberger and Hancel Rincon. https://t.co/vpNQAzvNKg pic.twitter.com/sNWfR7xnS8

July 22, 2024 at 8:55 am #261175Its pretty late in the season now. Somebody like Rajcic doesn’t have a 5 ERA because of a slow start, or settling in or anything. The rest of the AA rotation looks the same. Some say, oh, but there’s Hence and Hjerpe and Roby. No there’s not. There might be some day, but not soon. Talking about shuch guys before they establish durability is meaningless. I tried to make that case when everyone was placing Roby near the top of the prospect rank. But we went with make believe. OK, but make believe isn’t going to help. There is nothing to filter up to AAA next year. At AAA are a few guys who can freshen up next spring’s laundry list vying for the 5th/6th starter slots. That is bleak. Its effing bleak.
