The St. Louis Cardinals system was 2-3 on Tuesday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, DSL catcher Rainiel Rodriguez, was 3-for-6 with four RBI and two runs scored. Other standouts include Daniel Rojas, Facundo Velasquez, Ian Bedell and Alex ladisernia.

The Triple-A Redbirds were defeated by the Storm Chasers in a one run road loss on Tuesday. Starter Michael McGreevy pitched six innings, gave up two runs on four hits, struck out two and walked four.
St. Louis rehabber Giovanny Gallegos relieved McGreevy and surrendered two runs in the seventh to take the loss. Connor Thomas tossed a scoreless eighth.
Omaha took a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Memphis got on the board in the sixth on a solo home run by Thomas Saggese. Memphis added two runs in the top of the seventh on a two-run home run by Arquimedes Gamboa.

The Redbirds offense scored three runs on seven hits. Victor Scott II was 3-for-5. Gamboa had two RBI.
On the bases, César Prieto stole his second base of the season. Scott swiped his 16th bag. Scott was picked off first base.
Memphis is 30-28 on the season.

The Double-A Cardinals fell to the Travelers in a 3-1 road loss on Tuesday. Starter Ian Bedell pitched six innings, gave up one run on four hits, struck out eight and walked one.

Leonardo Taveras relieved Bedell and surrendered two runs without recording an out and took the loss. Benito Garcia tossed the final two scoreless innings.
The game was scoreless until the sixth inning. In the top of the sixth, the Cardinals scored their only run. Nathan Church was hit by a pitch. R.J. Yeager reached on an error. Jimmy Crooks plated Church on a single.
Arkansas tied the game in the home sixth, then added two runs in the seventh.
Springfield scored one run on three hits. No Cardinal had multiple hits.
On the bases, Crooks stole his second base of the season. On defense, Matt Lloyd made a fielding error.
Springfield is 30-22 on the season.
Wednesday’s game: Tink Hence RHP (4-2, 3.14) vs. Jimmy Joyce RHP (0-1, 3.18) 6:35 CT.
Peoria 6 at Fort Wayne 5 (10 innings)
The High-A Chiefs edged the TinCaps in a 10-inning road contest on Tuesday. Starter Brycen Mautz pitched 5 2/3 innings, gave up two runs on four hits, struck out three and walked three.
Tyler Bradt threw 1 1/3 scoreless innings of relief. Tanner Jacobson surrendered three runs in two innings but still received the win, his second of the season. Nathanael Heredia tossed a scoreless 10th for his second save of 2024.
Fort Wayne took a 1-0 lead in the first inning. Peoria put up three runs in the fourth. Osvaldo Tovalin doubled. Leonardo Bernal plated Tovalin on a single. In his first game off the injured list, Chris Rotondo followed with a two-run home run.

The TinCaps added a run in the fifth to cut the lead to 3-2. In the seventh, the Chiefs increased the gap to 5-2. Won-Bin Cho drew a walk. Dakota Harris singled. Tre Richardson advanced the runners on a sac bunt. Alex ladisernia singled to score Cho and Harris.

Fort Wayne came back with two runs in the eighth and one run in the ninth to tie the game. In the top of the 10th. Richardson started on second base. ladisernia singled. Richardson came home on a sac fly by Zach Levenson. Peoria led 6-5. The TinCaps were unable to answer.
The Chiefs scored six runs on eight hits. ladisernia was 2-for-5 with two RBI. Bernal was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Tovalin was 2-for-5. Rotondo had two RBI.
On the bases, Bernal stole his fourth base of the season. ladisernia was caught stealing.
Peoria is 17-25 on the season.
Wednesday’s game: at Fort Wayne, Quinn Mathews LHP (0-1, 2.84) vs. Jagger Haynes LHP (1-3, 5.01) 6:05 CT.
The Class-A Cardinals lost to the Blue Jays in a 3-1 contest at Roger Dean Stadium on Tuesday. Starter Gerardo Salas pitched six innings, gave up three runs on four hits, struck out five and walked two. Salas took the loss, his third of the season.
Augusto Calderon relieved Salas and threw two scoreless innings. Ettore Guilianelli tossed a scoreless ninth.
The Beach Birds took 1-0 lead in the third inning. Lizandro Espinoza walked and stole second base. Sammy Hernandez plated Espinoza on a single.
Dunedin put up one run in the fourth and two in the fifth to lead 3-1. Palm Beach was unable to answer.
The Cardinals scored one run on eight hits. Hernandez was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Jose Cordoba was 2-for-4.
On the bases, Espinoza stole his seventh base of the season. Miguel Villarroel swiped his 16th bag.
Palm Beach is 30-22 on the season.

Florida Complex League Cardinals – Off day
The fourth-place Florida Complex League Cardinals (10-13) were off Tuesday.
Wednesday’s game: vs. FCL Mets, RH Ronny Oliver (1-1, 5.02) vs. TBD 11:00 am CT.
DSL Cardinals 15 at Blue Jays 9 (12 innings)
In their first game of the 2024 season, the rookie level Dominican Summer League Cardinals thrashed the Blue Jays in a 15-9 slugfest. Starter Branelli Franco pitched 1/3 of an inning, gave up four runs on two hits, struck out one and walked four.
Alan Reyes relieved Franco and threw 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Jefferson Moran hurled three scoreless innings. Brailyn Paulino pitched a scoreless inning. Bernard Mack surrendered two runs in 1 2/3 innings. Guanchi Martinez yielded one run in 2/3 innings. Kener Perez tossed 2 2/3 scoreless innings with no hits, three walks and four strikeouts to earn his first win. Jesus Garcia allowed two runs, one earned, in the 12th.
The Cardinals went up 2-0 in the first inning. Facundo Velasquez drew a walk. Rainiel Rodriguez plated Velasquez on a double. Rodriguez came home on a single by Bracewell Taveras.
The Blue Jays answered with four runs in the home first to lead 4-2. The Cardinals put up three runs in the top of the fourth to regain the lead 5-4. Daniel Rojas tripled and scored on a single by Brayan Amoroso. Yoerny Junco walked. Yairo Padilla walked. Amoroso came home on a wild pitch. Junco also crossed the plate on a wild pitch.
In the seventh, Padilla tripled and scored on a single by Velasquez to increase the lead to 6-4. Rojas plated Velasquez on a single to make it 7-4.
The Blue Jays added two runs in the eighth and tied it 7-7 in the ninth.
Neither team scored in the 10th or the 11th. In the top of the 12th, the Cardinals rallied for eight runs to lead 15-7. Velasquez started the inning at second base. Rodriguez singled to score Velasquez. Taveras and Fernando Roquez walked to load the bases. Rojas singled to bring Rodriguez and Taveras home. Andru Arthur walked to load the bases again. Padilla walked and Roquez crossed the plate. Velasquez singled to plate Rojas and Arthur. Padilla and Velasquez came home on a double by Rodriguez.
The Blue Jays added two runs in the bottom of the 12th to bring the final score to 15-9.
The Cardinals scored 15 runs on 15 hits. Rodriguez was 3-for-6 with four RBI and two runs scored. Rojas was 3-for-6 with three RBI and two runs scored. Velasquez was 2-for-6 with three RBI and four runs scored. Padilla was 2-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored. Taveras was 2-for-6 with an RBI.
On the bases, Roquez stole his first base of the season.
The Cardinals are 1-0 on the season.
