An unlikely looking chance for win #199 – but if the bats stay hot you never know.

Still, it doesn’t seem probable that Wainwright can hold down this Braves lineup for 5 innings…

At least we can enjoy the memory of a terrific two-day outburst of offense against a first-rate team. We can only hope that offense can rack up enough runs tonight to give Waino a fighting chance.

We crush the mighty Braves two nights in a row but can’t beat the lowly Pirates to save our life. Go figure.

    Waino might win 14-13.

It would be fitting if he kicked the game winning extra point.

There appears to be some rain in the Georgia area. I think it’s already passed through Atlanta and is now heading east. Hopefully this game won’t have any issues.

I am calling this one 11-2 Braves as Waino gives up some early runs and doesn’t last long. Hopefully I am wrong.

If the swing were as nice as the beads he’d be in business.

Waino at 90 pitches, so I figure he’s done. We better score some runs in the top of the 6th.

But that would call for producing when it matters.

Wainwright close to 100 pitches but if he wants to stay in there and have a chance at W #199 he can draw inspiration from Spahn laboring through 201 pitches at the age of 42. He’s less than half way there.

Waino just ran out of gas. These Braves bats too much tonight.

We got two out of three in Dixie Land. Can’t complain about that.

Cards rally in the 9th falls short. Nice running catch by Rosario ends it. 8-5 Braves the final.

    On to Crosley Field……

Really disappointing that Waino is till getting meaningless starts. The player is done. He has had a great career, but enough is enough. He is getting shelled almost everytime he goes out there. They should be giving these innings to some of the younger players to help in the near future.
Wainwright should take the 198 and say “hey, great career!”
As he said, the difference between 198 and 200 is only a number, not a big deal… well if this is true then he should not be starting period.
But, my guess is he will continue to start.. why, just cause. FO and OM at it again.

I get the loyalty to Wainwright, but its become a spectacle.

Agreed 552. Waino should come out of the pen when a win opportunity arises… let the younger players have the rest of this season. 198 is pretty darn good.

I would normally say they should have pulled him after the fifth, but they were down and clearly wanted to give the offense a chance to provide him a lead. Then the Braves started hitting rocket after rocket and he stayed in even when it was clear he was toast. Another forgettable night in a season full of them. I’ve never liked putting individuals ahead of the team and that includes now.

Ya, very disappointing way to end a great career..should have walked off last year with Yadi and Albert!
