Heading into the All-Star break, the St. Louis Cardinals system went 2-2 on Sunday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Moisés Gómez, homered and singled twice with five RBI in Memphis’ win. Other standouts include Masyn Winn, Nick Dunn, R.J. Yeager and Michael Curialle.

The Memphis Redbirds (43-44) walloped the Indianapolis Indians (PIT, 40-46) on Sunday at Victory Field.
In his first start back from St. Louis, Matthew Liberatore tossed four innings and gave up three runs on six hits and a walk. The left-hander fanned seven. In relief, Logan Gragg surrendered one run with three punchouts to earn his first Triple-A win.
The Redbirds put up five runs in the third inning to take a 5-1 lead. Richie Palacios walked with the bases loaded and Tyler O’Neill reached on a fielder’s choice to plate one. Moisés Gómez singled to bring two across and Matt Koperniak added one more via sacrifice fly.
After the Indians scored two in the third, Memphis made it 9-3 in the fourth inning. Palacios singled to plate one. Gómez blasted a three-run home run, his 20th of the season. Masyn Winn added his 10th homer of the season in the fifth, a two-run shot.

Grant Black yielded one run in two innings on two hits, one walk and two strikeouts. Kodi Whitley tossed a scoreless ninth with two hits and two strikeouts.
In the seventh inning, O’Neill walked with the bases loaded. Palacios singled in the ninth inning to make the score 13-5.
The lineup recorded 13 hits and seven walks. Gómez went 3-for-5 with five RBI and a home run. Palacios collected two singles, two walks, three RBI and two runs. Winn had three runs and Juniel Querecuto was on base three times with two hits and a walk.
In the fifth game of his rehab assignment, center fielder O’Neill went 1-for-4 with a walk, two RBI and two runs scored. In 18 Memphis plate appearances, he has two singles, a double, four walks and five strikeouts for a line of .214/.389/.286/.675.
Memphis went 3-3 against the Indians this week and are 13 games out of first place in the International League West.

The Springfield Cardinals (5-7) fell to the Amarillo Sod Poodles (AZ, 8-4) at Hammons Field on Sunday afternoon.
In his first start back from Memphis, Brandon Komar surrendered five runs in three innings and took his fifth Double-A loss. The right-hander yielded three hits including a grand slam, four walks and one strikeout. Reliever Jose Martinez was wild, charged with four runs, three earned, on one hit, five walks and two strikeouts in 1 2/3 innings.
Springfield scored three of their six runs in the second inning. Errol Robinson doubled to plate one. Jose Alvarez drove in two with a single. The Sod Poodles put up five runs in the third before Mike Antico singled a run across in the fourth inning.
Edgar Manzo struck out five in 2 2/3 innings and his first Double-A appearance. Roy Garcia had a scoreless frame in his first Springfield outing. In the ninth, Andre Granillo walked one but collected a scoreless inning.
With Springfield down 9-4 in the sixth, June Player of the Month Nick Dunn continued his hot streak with a two-run home run, his seventh of the year. The Cardinals could not rally any more runs across.

Antico went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored. Dunn homered and singled. Robinson and Chandler Redmond doubled. The lineup went 3-for-10 with runners in scoring position and left 10 runners on base.
Behind the plate, Alvarez committed an error and had a passed ball. Martinez picked a runner off first base.
The Cardinals are tied for third place in the Texas League North after a 3-3 week.

The Peoria Chiefs (10-5) topped the South Bend Cubs (CHC, 4-11) on Sunday at Four Winds Field.
Inohan Paniagua tossed two scoreless innings with one hit and one walk in his first post-injury start back with Peoria. Dionys Rodriguez yielded two runs in 2 1/3 frames on four hits, two walks and one strikeout.
The Chiefs got on the board in the first inning as Jimmy Crooks and Ramon Mendoza singled to make the score 2-0. In the third, Alex Iadisernia hit a solo homer and R.J. Yeager blasted a two-run shot. Aaron McKeithan singled one more across in the fifth inning.

Out of the bullpen, Joseph King earned his first High-A win after he struck out three and gave up one run in 2 2/3 innings. Jack Ralston saved his first Peoria game after two hitless frames with three punchouts.
Yeager went 2-for-3 with a home run with two runs scored. McKeithan recorded the only multi-hit game with two. The lineup went 3-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
On the base paths, Iadisernia and Yeager both took bags. Mendoza was caught stealing. In the field, Jeremy Rivas committed a fielding error. Paniagua picked off two runners.
Peoria went 4-2 against the Cubs this week. They are in first place in the Midwest League West.

The Palm Beach Cardinals (3-12) were defeated by the Clearwater Threshers (PHI, 11-4) at BayCare Ballpark on Sunday afternoon.
Starter Benjamin Arias gave up three runs on four hits and two walks in six innings. The right-hander fanned a season-high eight but took his second loss.
The Beach Birds tied the game with one run in the fourth inning on Michael Curialle’s triple. Leonardo Bernal came across in the sixth on an error.
Out of the bullpen, Augusto Calderon yielded four runs on three hits and a walk in 1/3 of an inning. Luis Gastelum pitched a scoreless 2/3 of an inning. John Lynch struck out one in a scoreless eighth.
Palm Beach only recorded two hits and six walks in the contest. Leonardo Bernal went 1-for-2 with two walks and two runs scored. Curialle tripled, walked and drove in a run. The lineup went 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.
On the base paths, Lizandro Espinoza took his 11th bag of the season. Won-Bin Cho was picked off.
After a 1-5 week, the Cardinals are in last place in the Florida State League East.
