The St. Louis Cardinals system went 4-2 on Saturday. The Cardinal Nation’s Player of the Day, Victor Scott II, went 4-for-4 with a walk, three runs and three stolen bases to bring his total to 43 this year. Other standouts include L.J. Jones, Nathan Church, Tink Hence and Max Rajcic.

The Memphis Redbirds (34-28) fell to the Durham Bulls (TB, 35-27) on Saturday night at AutoZone Park.
Zack Thompson went 3 2/3 innings and gave up a run on two hits, six walks and six strikeouts. Kyle Leahy took his third loss after he yielded five unearned runs, one earned, in 1 1/3 innings.
The Redbirds scored their first run in the first inning. Masyn Winn walked and Matt Koperniak singled to advance Winn to third. Iván Herrera brought him in via sacrifice fly. Durham answered with six runs between the fourth and fifth innings.
Kodi Whitley and Dalton Roach both threw scoreless innings with a strikeout each. Guillermo Zuñiga gave up four runs on one hit, three walks and a strikeout in the eighth inning. Ryan Loutos was touched for two runs in the ninth.
Memphis added two runs in the seventh inning. Herrera walked with the bases loaded after Durham challenged the call but was upheld. Moisés Gómez grounded out to plate one. The Bulls scored six runs over the last two innings. Koperniak hit a solo homer in the ninth, his third of Triple-A.
Koperniak and Errol Robinson both recorded two hits. Herrera went 1-for-2 with two walks and two RBI. Taylor Motter walked three times. The lineup had seven hits, nine walks and left 12 runners on base.
In the field, Juniel Querecuto committed a fielding error.
Sunday’s game: vs. Durham, RHP Michael McGreevy (6-0, 2.54) vs. TBA 2:05 CT
The Springfield Cardinals (27-29) beat the Northwest Arkansas Naturals (KC, 21-35) at Hammons Field.
Logan Gragg earned his first win of the year after he pitched 6 2/3 innings and gave up two runs on three hits, three walks and four strikeouts. Ryan Shreve closed out the seventh with a scoreless 1/3 of an inning.
Springfield scored four of their five runs in the first two innings. In the first, Pedro Pagés singled and Chandler Redmond walked. L.J. Jones blasted a three-run homer, his fifth of the season.

After the Naturals scored one in the second, Mike Antico answered with a solo home run in the home half, his eighth.

Jacob Buchberger launched his 10th home run in the fifth, a solo shot.

In relief, Logan Sawyer only pitched 1/3 of an inning and surrendered one run. Andre Granillo saved his fourth game of the season after 1 2/3 scoreless frames.
Every starter in the lineup was on base at least once. Buchberger had the only multi-hit game with two. The 25-year-old doubled and homered. Jones and Antico also had home runs.
Catcher Jose Alvarez stole his third base of the season.
Sunday’s game: vs. NW Arkansas, RHP Edgar Escobar (6-2, 4.76) vs. TBA 6:05 CT
The Peoria Chiefs (27-29) walloped the Beloit Sky Carp (MIA, 24-31) at Dozer Park on Saturday night.
Tink Hence pitched five innings and yielded one run on five hits and no walks. TCN’s no. 3 prospect fanned three. Nathanael Heredia struck out two in a scoreless sixth.
After the Sky Carp scored a run in the first, Peoria responded with five runs between the third and fourth innings. Aaron McKeithan scored the tying run via sacrifice fly. Osvaldo Tovalin plated one with a double and Ramon Mendoza tripled to make the score 3-1.
In the fourth, Nathan Church doubled to bring a run across. TCN’s no. 42 prospect came home on a sacrifice fly from Jimmy Crooks.

Roy Garcia tossed two scoreless innings with two punchouts. Edgar Manzo yielded a run in the ninth inning.
The Chiefs put the game away with a five-run eighth inning. Church doubled for the second time in the game to add two more runs. McKeithan singled to score one. Crooks blasted a solo home run, his fourth of the season and third in the past three games.

Victor Scott II went 4-for-4 with four singles, a walk and three runs scored. Church had two doubles, a single, three RBI and three runs. McKeithan had two RBI and Crooks drove in three. The lineup went 6-for-13 with runners in scoring position.
On the base paths, Scott took three bags and now has 43 this season. Darlin Moquete was caught stealing.
Moquete had an outfield assist from right field.

The Palm Beach Cardinals (33-23) topped the Jupiter Hammerheads (MIA, 31-25) on Saturday night at Roger Dean Stadium.
Max Rajcic had a very solid start with one run surrendered in six innings on three hits and no walks. TCN’s no. 19 prospect tied a season-high with seven strikeouts.
The Beach Birds got on the board in the first inning after R.J. Yeager singled home Alex Iadisernia but Jupiter tied the game in the second.
Out of the bullpen, Augusto Calderon pitched three innings with no runs given up. The right-hander struck out four and earned his first win of the year.
Palm Beach put up three runs in the eighth inning to take the lead. Yeager walked and Chris Rotondo walked after a 10 pitch at-bat. Michael Curialle singled and reached second to score a run. Carlos Linarez added two insurance runs via single.
Yeager and Curialle both had two hits, an RBI and a run scored. Iadisernia and Curialle doubled. Linarez drove in two. The lineup recorded seven hits and five walks.
Lizandro Espinoza and Curialle both committed fielding errors.

FCL Cardinals 2 at FCL Marlins 0
The Florida Complex League Cardinals (3-1) blanked the Marlins (2-3) at Roger Dean Stadium on Saturday morning.
Starter Leonel Sequera pitched three scoreless innings on a hit and three strikeouts. Out of the bullpen, Ruben Menes earned his first career win with two scoreless innings and two punchouts. Diorys Guerrero struck out two in a scoreless sixth inning.
The Cardinals struck in the fourth inning to take a 1-0 lead. Anyelo Encarnacion singled to score Yancel Guerrero (single). In the sixth, Jose Cordoba tripled and Romtres Cabrera doubled to make the score 2-0.
John Lynch, Omar Yanez and Samuel Fabian all recorded scoreless innings of relief. Fabian fanned two and earned the save.
Seven different players in the lineup had a hit. Adari Grant doubled and walked twice. The Cardinals went 3-for-14 with runners in scoring position.

DSL Cardinals 2, DSL Mets Orange 5 (7 innings)
The Dominican Summer League Cardinals (3-2) were defeated by the Mets Orange (3-2) on Saturday in a seven-inning contest.
Starter Keiverson Ramirez was touched for one run, a solo homer, in four innings. The 17-year-old yielded four hits and struck out one.
The offense scored the only runs in the fourth and fifth innings. Facundo Velasquez came across on an error in the fourth. In the fifth, Elias Reynoso reached on a walk, advanced to third and stole home.
In relief, Justin Hernandez took the loss after he surrendered three runs on a hit, two walks and three strikeouts. Jose Suriel struck out three but gave up a run in the seventh.
Arfeni Batista recorded the only hits for the Cardinals with two. The lineup went 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position.
On the bases, Batista, Reynoso and Daniel Rojas all stole bags. Batista and Velasquez both committed errors.
