Since the off-season is over, let’s use this as a catch-all thread for those spring training discussion subjects that don’t justify a separate thread.
The topic of conversation today with #STLCards manager Oli Marmol was the battle for outfield spots. He said Tyler O’Neill was working in CF because he was fighting for a job there. Marmol said he had a lengthy convo today with CF Dylan Carlson — prompted by DC.

Marmol reiterated O’Neill, Carlson and Lars Nootbaar are the 3 front-runners for the starting OF jobs, but the players and the starting positions are interchangeable. For example: O’Neill can play LF, CF. DC can play all 3, as can Lars. Yepez/Burleson/Walker will be corners. https://t.co/IXTPSoh590

March 4. Full details for members here. STEP Camp is already underway.
#STLCards RHP Giovanny Gallegos will throw a live BP today with an oversized clock nearby to help him conform with new MLB rules (15 seconds for pitches with bases empty & 20 seconds with runners on). Gallegos was tied for last & 2nd-to-last in slowest-paced MLB pitchers in ‘22.
